Hibachi Express

I was on my way North and spied Hibachi Express. Hungry, I eagerly pulled in. I had a steak bowl with white rice and veggies. I was pleasantly surprised: large portions, the steak tender and the price reasonable. I will stop here again on my next trip.

This family run restaurant always gets it right! I ordered takeout and got the Seafood Hibachi, which comes with rice, grilled veggies, scallops and shrimp, for myself. My wife got the steak and shrimp. I always get something different because she never eats all of hers. Between both our orders it was truly 4 meals. They are so nice, which is definitely a rare commodity these days. For the quality of the food, the price is very reasonable. Oh yeah... The cheese wantons are so crispy and delicious.

For fast Asian - it’s pretty good. You can’t beat the price for the amount of food you get! The yum yum is good too! The cheese wontons are better than the pot stickers in our opinion but both are good.

I had the hibachi steak. A half order is a perfect lunch portion. The steak was cooked good and wasn't bad at all. The vegetables served with it were good, maybe heavier on the onions than the other vegetables, but I think that's about anywhere.

The rice was good and their yellow sauce wasn't bad. The chicken egg roll was a little dry and the outside was cooked a little too much, but overall want bad.

I don't think they use their A/C system because it was hot in there the entire time. Not much for atmosphere, but there was a singular fish in a tank by the door that I have since named Johnny. He looked like he could use another partner or 2 in the tank and some more decoration.

I will definitely return for lunch sometime :)
