First time trying and I enjoyed it. Had the rib plate that comes with two sides, I chose the coleslaw and Mac n cheese, garlic bread and a couple of pickle slices with onion. The Mac was not your traditional type. Instead of cheddary it was Parmesan with a hint of what I believe was dill. It was good but different so just consider that. The coleslaw was didn't have a lot of flavor. Wasn't gross or anything but I just assume eat KFC slaw. The ribs were really good. Juicy and tender. They put sauce on the side, so I was a little mixed on my feeling about that but the ribs were so good they really dont need any sauce. Probably works better for the other meats. The negatives were that parking is not very accessible. But all of downtown Gainesville is like that, so not much can be done. If you're lucky you can get a spot in front on the side of the street. They could use two improvements though. A couple of more side item additions and a two or three meat combo platter. I believe this is the only BBQ place I've been to that doesn't. They could add one and easily charge up for the single meats were not crazy priced. I will eat there again if in the area. The place is also bigger on the inside than it looks from outside.

The service was great. The fried okra appy had a new flavorful twist on what you'd normally find in a country kitchen. The Pig Melt took the cake! Such flavorful and tender BBQ with perfectly toasted bread. 10/10 would recommend.

I had the brisket platter with Mac n cheese and greens. The food was outstanding, with the brisket melting away in your mouth. Rob did an excellent job waiting on us with friendly customer service and exceeded our expectations.

The food and service were exquisite. The smoked brisket is some of the best I’ve had east of the Mississippi, and the Mac & cheese was very unique and to die for. I also did the chargrilled oysters as an appetizer which were very delicious.Why the 1 star review, then, you ask?After my family and I dropped 100 bucks on this establishment, the owner moseyed over to my brother-in-law and asked who Jabba the Hutt was. Within full earshot of me, a paying customer. I’m a big guy, no surprise there, but I’m appalled at the owner’s behavior. Absolutely disgusting display toward his customers. I’ll be getting the word out about that guy, the business he owns and what kind of a person he is.I hope the owner sees this so I can say this - You can slob on my slimy Hutt tail. I won’t be back.

They've been open for 8 weeks now in Gainesville - you can't tell. They are operating at peak level. Everything we ordered was on point (see video) and our server, Maddie, is a jewel. Must try.
This place is great. We loved the corn fritter app. The BBQ was delicious. The sauce is good. The Philly was good. Loved the fried pie for dessert. The service was outstanding. We will be back.

Got a to go order and maybe that was my mistake. Got a chopped chicken plate and a rib plate. Neither of which came with pickles and pickled onion like the menu says. I got potato salad and collard greens and Mac n cheese and potato salad with the respective plates. I came home with beans, slaw and double Mac n cheese. The Dahlonega location is consistently good and the meats were very good at least . So I'm willing to give this location a second chance, just check your to go order before you leave. Front counter service was very good, very friendly.

We had lunch at this restaurant today, and it was delicious. I had the smoked salmon BLT and a small bowl of Brunswick stew. Both were excellent. My husband had the bbq rib platter, and he enjoyed it very much. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and with the management and service. The manager was very attentive, and she made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend North Georgia BBQ and Oyster House in Gainesville. Kudos to the entire staff. The stew is to die for!!! Be sure to try this place.Kid-friendliness: Families were in the restaurant while we were there.
