Poor Richard's Restaurant

Would give it all 5 stars but it is closed & for sale! Drove 45 minutes because the web says it is open until 10pm today....same yesterday. Ruined my 77th birthday wish!

With the new owners the place is terrible. Went in tonight and there was one lady working as the only… host, manager, bartender and busser. They were out of a lot of food and they couldn’t take credit cards. Never again.

OMG!! Best Steakhouse food I have ever eaten! Their prime rib and their filet was just fantastic, full of flavor, full of delicious food all in all—first time visiting an old establishment, but might I tell you when I say it was absolutely fantastic! Service was great, food was excellent, and atmosphere was so romantically retro with all the vintage songs and interior as well as exterior made it out to be!

Have been going here since 2004, recently went back there yesterday, and they’ve never failed to surprise me with amazing food and hospitality. The food is just as delicious and tasty as I remember it to be, and the atmosphere is very nostalgic! I would recommend it. Please go and visit them, and you will not be disappointed.

This was the WORST RESTAURANT I have EVER been to. It completely ruined our anniversary dinner party. The air conditioning didn’t work and the thermostat said 80 degrees in the dead of summer. The toddlers and infants were literally sweating so they had to go outside to cool down. The food was gross. The photos of food were nothing like the actual food. My shrimp was rubber, my sisters chicken was hard with some kind of brown mushroom sauce? And the “rack” of ribs looked like a MCRIB. I personally paid a 250$ bill and we ate none of it. The service was CHAOTIC and they made our bills extremely complicated. I will never go back. At this point I think the owner should return our money as an apology that we had to eat in a restaurant that was sweltering hot and not fit for children. We had to move multiple people and babies to different rooms to eat because they were sweating so badly. We asked them numerous times to fix the A/C and it was never fixed. The temperature continued to climb. How is this not an ethical issue? How is this place open for business if they cannot provide their customers with Air conditioning in the MIDDLE OF SUMMER IN GEORGIA? Please someone shut them down. Not only are we out 250$, we also feel like our parents 40th anniversary dinner party was ruined. I have never complained before or written a review but this was down right the WORST experience I have ever had and am completely dissatisfied and saddened that we wasted all of our family members time and money. It was like eating in a 100 year old funeral home that hadn’t been cleaned or air conditioned. Don’t go.

We are at Poor Richard’s for an anniversary celebration. We were the only people in the restaurant. There was no AC. The food was terrible. The server made the entire process very difficult but hyper focusing on whose check was with whose. Will never return.

Tonight was the worst ever. Steak was overcooked service was slow and all orders were incorrect. Restaurant was hot a/c not at comfortable temperature.

They are in transition and I hope they get it figured out. The potential is there especially with the history of this restaurant.

This our first bad review of a restaurant in years, we normally go by the old adage of “ If you don’t have something go to say don’t say anything”.
We had not eaten here in a couple years but in the past we enjoyed their salad and prime rib. We were there at 6:00 PM on a Friday evening and we were the only people in the place. We should have taken that as a hint and left but we did not. The place smelled terrible, like the office of a cheep hotel, that was hint number two.
We ordered the prime rib but they did not have prime rib, hint number three but we stayed. I ordered the Shish kebab and my wife ordered the shrimp, both tasted like they came off the Cisco truck. That would be fine it they were priced like that, but they were not.
The service was friendly but non attentive and even though we were the only people in the restaurant we waited over 20 minutes to get our bill. Actually we had to go find our server to get our bill. There is more to this adventure but I am tired of typing, the only redeeming factor of this visit was the bacon salad dressing.

This has a great ambiance with all the retro interiors whereas the food is fantastic with all of the spices at its best. Above all buffet is best suggested to try with almost 20 varieties served including desserts.

Food was delicious. Really loved the curry chicken and the fruit custard was awesome. Was treated with respect and atmosphere was pleasant and quiet. You won't be disappointed.

My friend ordered online through the poor Richard’s website. It was a good bit of money but we were excited to try it. We ordered delivery, again, through their own site.
She got a message from Uber eats saying someone at the restaurant said they don’t do Uber eats or DoorDash anymore.
That’s great but why allow orders? Now we have to worry about getting a refund from Uber eats? Fantastic.

Don’t make the same mistake we did. Don’t order online.

Great experience! Poor Richard’s is under new management and they are fantastic! Great food and they have done a ton cleaning! They also told us they were adding a buffet with Indian food! ♥️
