I've been contemplating writing this for the past day, but I think everyone should know how corrupt Southern Baked Pie Company is (the company I am happy to say I no longer work for) Over the past 2 years I have seen and heard awful things that I would like to share with you all.1) Someone who used to be close with the owner for 10+ years told me in confidence that when she first started Southern Baked they were iffy to hire African Americans "because i don't think our old customers would like black people handling their food"2) A girl was hired at the Gainesville store & after one day of working she was let go because corporate found out she was possibly transgender and did not "fit the look" because she had a beard.3) The bakery is filled with severely underpaid Hispanic workers who are treated very very poorly. I saw firsthand when I worked in the corporate side of the bakery during the holidays.I worked at the Gainesville store for 2 years and was treated terribly by management. Hey Janice & Joan, I hope you are reading this. I was let go yesterday and the reason for termination I was given was that I accepted a tip from a customer and "we do not accept tips because of southern hospitality." Very convenient that we were overstaffed and did not have the hours to go around. The turnaround was extremely high at Southern Baked and sadly this is why. I saw several of my co-workers wrongly let go without a decent reason.I am grateful that God gave me an exit and that I will find a job who appreciates and values me. I'm sharing this to bring awareness about Southern Baked because this is not a company anyone should be supporting.On to something bigger and better! Thank you all for taking the time to read this and please share! Let's support businesses that matter ?

We just tried the southwestern taco pie and it was great from the first bite and oddly enough tasted better and better the more I ate. Usually something just tastes good or it doesn't. It got more and more delicious. The rest of my family loved it too.

Southern Baked Pie company recently sponsored desserts for a local business owners’ summit and luncheon. Huge shout out for the bakers of pecan caramel, chocolate chess, coconut and the buttermilk pies! Absolutely delicious! Flavors to satisfy everyone!

I’ve has the pecan pie and blueberry crumble and they were delicious! I got a pot roast pie recently and it was not good. Maybe - a cup of shredded beef, a few flecks of carrots, all hidden by the overwhelming amount of mashed potatoes. The crust (as always) was good. Not what you should expect for a dinner pot pie costing $45.

We were thrilled with the Pot Roast pie and the dessert pies, but the chicken in the southwest chicken pie was awful! A LOT of fat/grizzle so we threw it out. Wish I had not ordered that one, but the Pot Roast pie was very good quality. It shipped with plenty of dry ice so the pies arrived in great shape!
Sent a chicken pot pie (expensive!) to my 80 year old friend who is battling breast cancer. Found out a few weeks later that it arrived with the box smashed and completely thawed. She had to throw it out. She didn't want to hurt my feelings, so my daughter finally told me. I alerted them and they refused to make it right. They said I must send them a picture of the damaged box. Their rigidity cost them a customer. I understand having policies, but their response was heartless

Pecan pie was yummy but the other ones left a lot to be desired. Way too overpriced. You could get a whole pie for the price of their tiny ones. If they were delicious I wouldn't mind but they fell flat. We also got the coconut custard and the buttermilk. I threw both away. Bummed Because I was excited to try. Customer service was good. Place was tiny but cute. Won't be back.

Tip: advance order for holidays or you’re at the mercy of leftover picks in late afternoon.Well thought out displays, good location & delish pies! Bought an apple to take for a dinner with local friends tonight & two “minis” - pecan & coconut. The flavors on the minis was excellent although a little too sweet for me. Betting on the apple this evening. The best flavors so far was the “Strawberry Pie” sample in the store. $39. seems a little high & I’m glad I can make my own at home, but, I guess the price is fair as a homemade butter crust is definitely work! I would frequent this small business regularly if I were local. Very, very well done! ?

Had the opportunity to taste their Caramel Pecan, Apple, Cherry, South WesternTaco, Pot Roast, Chicken Ranchero and Chicken Pot Pie. The crust on all are decadent and you can never have enough butter. I wish I could tell you which ones were my favorites but they just seem to get better and better with every bite. I highly recommend any products this company makes. You will be glad you did.
