Good BBQ and service for a hole in the wall place. You can get sandwiches or bulk buy to take with you. Only draw back is they don't serve banana pudding

It was a great place to stop and eat. I would recommend it to anybody. And the gas prices are normal with everybody else.

This is a wonderful place. First the food - it’s good. Very good. Both my wife and I enjoyed our BBQ. Second the owners - a lovely couple who, clearly, love what they do and love their customers. Go enjoy

Had heard great things. I didn't go in but my honey did. Their food is much different from other SOUTHERN BBQ places. The food was.. unexpected, I guess. Maybe we didn't know what to order. ... Also VERY PRICY. Couldn't get this food very often anyway. As I've heard good things.. I might would try again.Parking: Not a large parking area.. unless it's in the back. I didn't see one.. except for front.Wheelchair accessibility: Normal

Wanted a quick meal while passing through Gainsville. Spotted the Hickory Pig when coming into town. The building looked interesting on the outside so we pulled in. I had a pulled pork sandwich with beans and greens. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich with stew and greens. We made a good choice. The food was delicious and the owners were very entertaining. We will be eating at the Hickory Pig again the next time we are in Gainsville.

The food was horrible. We spent $6 on a sandwich and it was tiny and the meat was terrible. It was dry and parts were green, I couldn't even eat it. Had to just throw it my cats. Their signature sauce is just as bad, absolutely no flavor. I have no idea how they are allowed to sell food to the public.

I stopped here on a whim... traveling to visit family. Very humble place, smelled amazing from the time I left the car. Inside, there were 3 tables. The menu was very basic. I chose sliced pork loin and a few sides. Husband and wife waited on me- and another couple that were obviously regulars. I enjoyed every bite! I heard and shared stories with the couples. It was very enjoyable and a memory that I look back on fondly.

I was looking for a fast lunch and have been wanting to stop in here ya know check it out. This place has been in business for 35 years- admirable! I wanted to love this place, you walk in and feel like you've traveled back in time. Down home & very southern feel (to be expected). The food was not great but the service was some of the best I've ever had. Very friendly owners and super hospitable. I'm hoping I just got the wrong things. My recommendation was "everything". I went with the smoked chicken and for my sides I chose the collard greens & baked beans. Collard greens were very tasty! Beans were just okay. The chicken was the most disappointing as it was very dry. A fast lunch indeed but I would have given more time for some juicier chicken! Maybe next time. If you're on the edge of trying it, I say go for it. Get the collard greens. Pro tip- this place is connected to a biscuit place. was told they have the best biscuits in town.
