Driving through Gainesville at lunch recently, we chose this place based on their very high rating - and were so disappointed. The food was so bland and tasteless. I don’t know how that even happens with Mexican food. Even the salsa was unseasoned. My gustase trio had almost nothing on them besides unseasoned meat, like, what?! We were on a mini-vaca so we had ordered margaritas, and they seemed to have no alcohol at all - couldn’t taste any tequila and didn’t get any buzz. How does this place get good reviews?! Maybe it’s good at dinner? Cannot recommend at all for lunch or a drink. I will say, though, that the service was fast and friendly.

Prices were a bit higher than other Mexican restaurants around town but food portions were a bit bigger. I had a salad the lettuce was a bit old but other than that it was okay. I ordered the Texas fajitas for take out which was around 20$ everything with it seemed like it was a smaller portions than when i first ate in, which was disappointing.

Great staff. Food was to me very fast. I only had time to drink half a beer. This is the 2nd night I have ate here. Great both nights. Will be eating here tomorrow. If you stay at the motel I highly recommend you eat here.

We used to eat at Tino's on Dawsonville Hwy but hadn't been to this location since they moved and, as I understand it, a family member bought the Dawsonville Hwy location. We had intended to try this location but just hadn't gotten around to it until now.My wife loves their Chicken Tortilla Soup but tonight she tried the Flautas, her other favorite. I had mixed steak and chicken Fajitas.I liked that the grilled vegetables with the Fajitas included squash and zucchini in addition to peppers and onions. There were only 3 tortillas initially (why to most Mexican Restaurants do this - there is no way you can put all the ingredients they give you into just 3?)But both the meat on the Fajitas and the Flautas were way overcooked. My chicken was hard - it took some sawing with the table knife to cut it. And I had to cut it because instead of being presented in strips, it was big squares, too large to roll up. The steak was also way overcooked, tough and hard to cut or chew.Everything else (rice, beans, drinks, chips and salsa) was fine. The guacamole was exceptional. And the service was timely and friendly.
This place is super clean any time I come here I receive a excellent service, the food is delicious the owner is very friendly and he makes sure we are well treated He pays attention to all the details, the place have plenty parking space and have a very nice bar, on Fridays they offer live music creating a very nice environment.

Food was okay, nothing special. Service was decent. Margarita was great. Atmosphere fair. Parking lot shared with hotel so can be limited at times. Convenient location in Gainesville.

When you eat here, you get treated like family, often times the owner will come and talk to you and make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time there. The best Mexican restaurant in Gainesville.

It's definitely Tex-Mex, but there are a number of dishes on the menu that push past the normal burrito/tacos/fajitas...although it turns out the tacos are really really good.
