We were the first party to arrive on Sunday and they couldn't get their credit card machine to work. Half our party had to go across the street to an ATM. As for the food, it was only ok. They seriously messed up 2 of our orders. The veggies, including the collards and green beans, were much too salty. They're trying hard and seem to be real good people, but they have kinks to work out before we try them again.
I'm staying at a near RV park and had a bad jones for some good barbecue. I'm so glad I found this place and lives up to the comments I read before coming here.
The ribs have a great smoke ring and cooked perfectly, not overcooked like so many places. I tried them first without the sauce, the flavor was excellent, savory and smoky. Absolutely delicious and authentic southern BBQ and cuisine! My grandma and I were coming through Greensboro and complained about the lack of options when we discovered Family Ties. We split a half-rack of ribs with three sides and it was absolutely wonderful. Every piece of the meal was spectacular, you can tell these folks take pride in what they're making.
