So disappointed. Waitress came up to the table and stood with her pen and tablet never spoke just waited for us to tell her what we wanted. literally slung the food on the table and ran across the restaurant to the sushi bar. I had to beg for drink refills. I had to ask for the sauce that I ordered twice. She brought me the wrong thing then proceed to tell me it was what I asked for. I looked at her and I said no, it’s not. She then returned with the correct sauce. when I asked to speak to a manager she said I am the manager, hence the problem.

Seeing a roach crawling through the restaurant while we were eating is beyond disgusting—it’s a health issue. There is zero excuse for that, ever. Appetite gone, night ruined. What really seals the deal is how management responds to reviews. Instead of owning the problem or apologizing, they reply with snarky, condescending, back-handed comments like customers are the problem for calling out filth. That attitude is unprofessional, defensive, and honestly embarrassing for a business serving food. If you can’t keep roaches out of your dining area and can’t speak to customers with basic respect, you shouldn’t be open. Cleanliness and accountability are the bare minimum. This place fails at both. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

I ate at Ichiban in Griffin, Ga with my sister in law today- I note that I haven’t been here in a few years, but it looked mostly the same. There was no wait for a table and the waitress was timely and pleasant. We ordered a water and diet coke. I immediately noted that the water tasted a little off but placed it to the side as the diet coke was just fine. We ordered some sushi and a lunch hibachi plate to share. The pricing was great, they were both on a lunch deal so our entire meal with tip was less than $40.00. The wait for the food wasn’t long, but you knew they were both freshly made as the sushi came out cool and fresh and the hibachi plate steaming when it hit the table. We were sitting in the left corner booth by the window when a german cockroach crawled out from behind the wood lining the wall the booth is sitting against. My sister in law pointed it out to me and in utter disbelief initially we questioned if we saw what we thought we saw. After confirming- immediately disgusted, we stopped eating, gathered our things, and got up from the table to pay at the front desk eager to leave. We didn’t ask for or demand a refund, we were cordial and pleasant at the register paying to leave, and decided not to mention it to the waitress taking our payment at that time as there were other customers at the desk and we wanted nothing more than to just go- without causing a scene. We can neither confirm nor deny if this has been a problem in the past or will continue to be a problem in the future. We can only state our experience today and wanted to make note of that as this is a review, and I think all reviews should be necessary, honest and fair. I think this checks all of those boxes. I do hope that if this is an issue, the facility gets it taken care of because had this not happened it would’ve been a good lunch.

I gave the food 4/5 stars based solely on the taste/seasoning and freshness upon arriving at the table- leaving out any bias of the post cockroach disgust. You’re welcome.

I gave the service a 5/5 stars because the waitress was quick and pleasant and I remember her from years back when I came more regularly. She has always acted in a timely manner and been as pleasant as she was today.

I however would have given the atmosphere 0 stars due to the experience with the cock roach, but that wasn’t an option and is my only complaint about our time here today.

I will note however that while I haven’t been here recently, when I came in the past I never noted cock roaches so maybe it was a one and done type of deal, we hope anyways.

Over 30 mins they trickled our food to us. They never brought my husband’s food at all. They kept playing a happy birthday song very loud and singing happy birthday. It was like Chucky Cheese. Sushi and soup wasn’t good at all. I tried many times and nothing has changed. Uggghh disappointed

Went here today after church. My first time here, the food was delicious 😋. A little wait, to be seated.. but not too bad though. I always order the chicken and wanted to try something different. I ordered the hibachi steak and salmon and a salad. Glad I did!! It was so fulfilling and reasonable price. You get your money's worth!! If you are in the Griffin, GA area.. definitely check them out!!

Ichiban Soup was excellent, filled with veggies, shrimp & seafood. Clear Soup was much more flavorful than is served at most Asian restaurants. Tuna Millenium Sushi was just spicy enough. Shrimp Tempura & Ichiban Special Tempura were the best—shrimp, scallops, broccoli & other veggies fried in a lovely light tempura batter. Josephine was our server, and she was helpful, attentive and so friendly!

Definitely not impressed. First time visiting and will not be going back, ordered hibachi chicken and it looked like pulled chicken breast with no color covered with teriyaki sauce on top of cabbage, the salad came with ginger dressing which I personally don’t like, the service was really good, the waitress was super attentive but the food can definitely improve !!
