Robbie closed the bar at 10pm on new yrs eve so that he could go to watch the ball drop at the town hall .. when the bar was full of people and everyone was having a great time . And also just me and my family has spent over 1k there in the last 2days . And we was also told by our server and the dj doing the music that they would be open until 1am . And then a last call at 9:30 so we had to leave . So from here on out we will not be back to the brew deck . Was very disappointed in the situation and how it was announced to everyone that was there …
robbie the bar tender closed the bar on new years eve at 10 pm when everyone was told they would be open until 1 am.
we had our entire family here. we were so excited.
they told my mom and dad who just spent over $1000 bwn the brew deck, the pizzeria, they did not justify staying open bc they had bern there all evening and only spent $500!! we would have spent another $500 easily before 12 am
Robbie closed the bar on New Year's Eve at 10 pm. We had spent over $500 that evening
We made sure we got there early to get a good seat because we were told they would be open until 1 am. When I said something to Robbie he told me $500 was not worth them staying open
My husband and I travel to Helen every 3-4 weeks. We will never go back
Robbie and the waitresses wanted to go out so they closed the bar!
We will take our business to dahlonga moving forward
Very disappointing

Went here for our 2024-2025 family trip and Robbie decided to close it at 10pm full bar, karaoke, lots of people and closed….so much for being open until 1 for new years like EVERYONE said they would be.

Everything was great, we were told they would be open until 1. Whoever was in charge tonight decided to close down early, on New Year’s Eve at 10. BS. We were having a great time before that.

We visited on NYE late in the afternoon. The place was moving but nothing too busy. We were greeted pretty quickly and sat immediately. Our table wasn't very clean. Our server took.... awhile... to get to us. He was quiet but knew the beers so he took our drink and appetizer order. Because we'd been sitting for awhile we knew already knew we wanted the Fish platter and the Burger in addition to Pretzels Bites, Pickle Fries and drinks. However, when the server arrived with our waters in two Styrofoam cups with plastic lids and plastic straws I was a little bummed. Then the beer came, in a plastic cup. Then the two apps came, in two paper boats with plastic coating, each with a piece of wax paper and each with sauce in a plastic ramekin with a plastic lid. I think you can see where I'm going with this... I don't mean to be such a hippie, but guys it's about to be 2025 and you're a restaurant on a river. Let's keep those rivers clean. This amount of garbage to feed two people drinks and apps is unacceptable. We decided not to place our dinners orders for the main reason of not wanting to create more trash. The appetizers were both tasty! No doubt about that, but the items we did order and consume cost $40 before tip... for food served on plastic...we couldnt justify giving any more money to this establishment.

This is sad, since finding this place years ago I've made it a point to stop and eat here every time I visit, but this past Saturday night I stopped in with my family, first thing was the fact that the bratwurst that I ordered was overcooked and hard to chew, but when we first got there I told the waiter to separate the checks, he said he would wait until the end, normally not an issue, but because he didn't do what I requested he ran it through as a large party to boost his tip, we didn't get served at the same time either, but at the end he charged 3 checks a large percentage tip for himself, when I told him that's all he would get then and only then did he want to let me change the tip, I normally don't have a problem with tipping my server well for good service, but the waiter named Cody was not a good server, 1. He charged me for items not received, 2. He did not bring all of our food out at the same time, 3. He only asked if we needed anything one time, 4. He complained about having to suffer through 2 hours and not get any tip?(we weren't even there an hour), 5. He refused to provide his name until I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager/owner Mary came to my table she arrived in an aggressive manner with confrontation in her voice, I stood up to leave and she started accusing me of being aggressive, so seeing that she was so aggressive and condensing, everyone at my table decided to leave, after receiving this treatment we all decided that since between the 3 checks he received a 60 percent tip from us, that wasn't highlighted on the menu or any other online menu, that they have seen the last of our patronage, especially after finding out this morning that Mary is the owner.

Stopped in Friday night during Xmas Market weekend. Seemed to be mostly locals there for the Karaoke, which was so loud you couldn't converse. Food was mediocre at best & very overpriced. $19 for hamburger that used overprocessed frozen beef patty. 6 small chicken straps were $18. Beers all overpriced with limited selection. Plain Bratwurst was $16 & poor quality.

The atmosphere is the best thing going for this place. It's a nice patio overlooking the river with a laid back vibe. The food was ok, def not worth the inflated prices. We had the veggie burgers, jalepeno poppers, and mac n cheese bites. Our daughter did not like the breading on the mac n cheese bites and peeled it off to just eat the pasta. Our big issue, however, was the service and it's why we'll not be going back or recommending this place to our clients. The issues were so many that Google won't even give me the character space to describe them in detail so briefly...
1. Host sat us (with a child) far away from the patio heaters when other tables were available.
2. Host cleaned food from previous guests off our table with our menus then handed them to us dirty. Did not wipe table down.
3. Our server (Kayla) told us they didn't have the standard side so we'd have to order salad or chips... and then charged us extra for it.
4. My mom asked for fries then instead but was told she could not have them unless she ordered the fish, forcing her into one of the aforementioned alternate sides.
5. Server brought out an appetizer that we ordered as a main meal early, despite being told we wanted to eat it as a meal with everyone else. She just shrugged, said sorry, and walked away.
6. Our server brought our vegetarian daugher chicken fingers instead of mac n cheese bites. Luckily, we caught it just before she took a bite as that would have made her very sick.
7. Server found out that they did still have the standard side, brought it out for my daughter but not for the rest of us (didn't even ask if we wanted it instead of the forced upgrade) until my mom insisted. My wife wasn't going to eat the side due to her diet regardless of what it was so she just didn't say anything (but they still charged us for the upgraded side that we niether wanted nor needed).
8. My wife's burger only had 1/2 a tomato slice (literally, cut right in half) but when we asked for one whole slice instead, were told the cooks knew exactly which burger it was and that we could not have any more tomatoes because they were running low.
9. Server asked us to pay before showing us an itemized receipt, then forced us to leave a high tip for bad service. Only AFTER payment, was the receipt shared with us, which then gave the manager the perfect excuse to not refund any of our money (because the payment had already been made).
10. The manager, Robbie, started interrupting me before I even finished going over the first issue. Was more interested in excuses than listening. Did ultimately apologize for this, however, he also immediately discarded 6 of the 9 issues above by saying he really only sees 3 issues.
11. Robbie's solution was to give us a bunch of coupons that we told him we could never use because we live in Florida and don't know when or if we'll ever come back.

Listen. The location is wonderful. But the restaurant itself needs a reality check. $20 for a basic burger. $18 for chicken nuggets dumped out of a freezer bag. I guess because of the location they can get away with these prices? They have such a great opportunity to create great unique food, but they’re serving school cafeteria food.
Check the menu before deciding on this restaurant. Know you are getting very expensive basic food. It’s not gourmet. It’s price gouging. Helen has better places. It’s not worth it I promise.
