“Delicious burger, limited uncomfortable seating. Water drops from air conditioning fell on me where I sat. Shame, limited, uncomfortable seating, and cramped. Friendly service.”

“This morning, my husband and I had breakfast at the Huddle House on Main Street in Helen, Georgia. I have allergies to gluten, dairy, corn, and oats, which makes going out to eat very challenging.

Server Angie, cook Bryson, and the team at Huddle House took up that challenge and bent over backwards to make sure I had something more than two eggs for breakfast. They went through every entry on the menu to see what I could have, and came up with a salad with chicken on it.

It was delicious! When we left, my hunger had been sated, and my heart was also happy that these folks worked so hard to make sure I started the day with a delicious breakfast!

“My daughter and I were in Helen for Thanksgiving. We sat and enjoyed a wonderful crêpe on Thanksgiving morning with Ashlee and Tori. Honestly it was my favorite meal our whole entire stay. I am a chef, and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. This place is a wonderful gem with fresh food and a great staff.”

“My husband loves a good steak yet one is hard to find.We live in Atlanta an d one would think it would be easy.For our honeymoon we stayed in Helen. Cowboys & Angels andE the steak was good. Real good. So good in fact, for my husbands birthday hThis is the way service shoulde wanted to go back.So we did. two and a half hours and the steak was just as good as it was before, yetth second time was better.you see, our server was EXSEPTIONAL!!! Her name isAdrianne P. Very attentive to what we were wnting to eat...recomendinggreat drinks, etc. When she found out it was his birthdayshe surprised him with dessert. made the whole experience magical.Addrianne we will be bck to see her again”

“Overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant had a cool look. The potato pancakes were good- crispy on the outside. They had a hint of flavor, but needed more. It was great with the apple sauce. The pretzel was fluffy and soft with very delicious cheese! It was so cheesy and had a distinct taste. I think in general our problem was the good was bland. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it was good- the flavor coming from the burnt parts. I got the beef roast- it was good, but it was slathered in gravy. The carrots and potatoes needed seasoning. My son got the chicken schnitzel. It was soggy. The mashy potatoes had a good texture, but needed seasoning. The spaetzle was also soggy- maybe that's how they are supposed to be? I don't know much about German food, but maybe this is how it's supposed to taste?? We went back a second time and sat in a different room- there were no TVs and the lights were super bright so we got out food to go. The pretzel was just as good. The french onion soup was okay- probably better there. The mozzarella was not was stretchy/stringy as I remember. It also might not have been mozzarella- not sure. We also had a piece of German chocolate cake. It was good. The cake was moist and the cream was thick with coconut and nuts!”

“Super friendly staff and owner. Just moved to Helen and was welcomed and offered suggestions and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Would highly recommend anyone visiting or local to make this a must stop.”

“This truly is a hole in the wall. We happened to visit during the hours they were open. There are maybe seven to eight tables total. We were lucky it wasn't busy. The two of us shared a combination platter, kielbasa, perogies, three different kinds of sauerkrauts, and a cabbage roll. It was plenty, but we just wanted some more perogies, but not a full perogie platter. When we asked, the German cook said she could do that for us, she was really nice, and the only one in the kitchen. The perogies are homemade and that good.”

“We ate at Hofer’s on our last morning at Helen, and we wish we’d have found it sooner! The food was absolutely to die for, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They noticed my 6 year old was eating heartily and made sure he had enough, and they took overall great care of us! I live hours away from Helen and would consider driving back just to have breakfast here! If you’re going thru Helen, make sure you put Hofer’s at the very top of your list!”

“Stopped in today to try a flight of ice DREAM! Four flavors, all spectacular, presentation on point, and Vegas (didn’t catch her name, you’ll know her though) was as spicy as the Hot Lava ice cream—my fav. What a delightful place, even had an SRV pic on the shelf! Best ice cream we’ve had in … ever! We even got a malted milkshake and coffee float to go. 😋 #livingitupinhelenga.”

“Their popcorn is extremely out of the world great, believe me if your looking for Carmel corn this is where you should come. Just 2 hrs north of Atlanta and it’s well worth the drive. My tastebuds water just talking about the popcorn.”

“Had lunch and ordered the Pork Schnitzel (2 tenderloins flattened to cover an oblong plate) with Bavarian gravy, my wife had Dinner Spatzle, also a large portion. The food was excellent. Heather C was our server and was also excellent. The indoor atmosphere was was very nice but went down hill fast when the accordion and tuba player came playing. The room size and acoustics are not suitable for very loud music. They apparently got their training from the 60s and 70s garage bands, can't play good then play LOUD and loud they were. Will go back but only when they are on break”

“My wife and I just returned from celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, at the Valhalla Resort Hotel. We absolutely LOVED it! The minute we drove up to the hotel’s front door, we were greeted by Steve, a tremendous valet! He genuinely treated us like we were the most important people in the hotel, right from the get go! Then, as we walked into the hotel, Judy welcomed us in with a smile, and explained to us what Valhalla had to offer. I felt like we were visiting with friends! Our room was beautiful, and quite festive, as our youngest daughter purchased the “Celebrate You” package for us! Later that evening, we went to have a drink at the Sky Bar, which has beautiful Mountain Views! Matt was the bartender, who fixed us an Old Fashioned, a Jalapeño Margarita. DELICIOUS! Matt is full of personality, and was right on point both days we spent time with him! Lastly, we met Jerry Murdock, the owner. Jerry was as kind as can be, and is an absolute riot! Thank you Valhalla, for helping to make our 30th wedding anniversary a most special one! We will be back!”

“I went today with my daughter. We got a funnel cake, cheese sticks, macaroni bites and fried green tomatoes. Everything was fresh and delicious. The gentleman working was super friendly also!”

“From the time I made reservations until we exited the restaurant the staff at Anna's Italian Kitchen was superb. The freshness of the meal and the flavors were good and delicious. The presentation was one of elegance, yet welcoming.
Brody, our waiter, made sure everything was perfect. For an added bonus, he serenaded the restaurant with his awesome voice.
The views from the dining room were beautiful, as the sun set over the mountains.

The value of the dinner is great. We had an eight course dinner with plenty of leftovers (believe me, you will want to savor every bite).
I suggest you sit and enjoy every minute and every bite (they do not rush you or make you feel uncomfortable for taking your time).”

“I had an amazing experience! Kaylee was our server, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. She checked on us at the perfect times, had a great attitude, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Excellent customer service like hers is hard to find.

The food was just as incredible—everything came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and the portions were generous. Between Kaylee’s outstanding service and the amazing food, this was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for Kaylee again!”

“We tried the restaurant! If you’re looking for authentic German food without spending a fortune, Old Bavaria is a must visit! The brats were absolutely amazing, packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and tasted incredibly authentic. The beer selection was delicious and paired perfectly with every dish.

Honestly, every single thing we tried was excellent. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. It’s one of those places that feels cozy, welcoming, and leaves you already planning your next visit.

“Delicious✨. My family went there specifically because of the good reviews one of us was reading. I don’t know what site he was using but they were all outstanding, nothing less than a four star. I thought the place was amazing! We were served pretty quickly and the appetizers greatly appeased the wait. The loaded fries and chicken I got was DELICIOUS! I have never eaten anything better ? (I’m not a bot, I swear?). The servers were really nice, especially the guy on the phone when we called to ask about the wait (there was none!) They even pushed enough tables together to have our 19 people sitting at the same table (usually they say 15 people a table, max at other restaurants). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it??‍♀️. Highly recommend!”
