We ate at Hofer’s on our last morning at Helen, and we wish we’d have found it sooner! The food was absolutely to die for, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They noticed my 6 year old was eating heartily and made sure he had enough, and they took overall great care of us! I live hours away from Helen and would consider driving back just to have breakfast here! If you’re going thru Helen, make sure you put Hofer’s at the very top of your list!
We ate here twice while visiting Helen, GA. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food is amazing. The corned beef hash was the best I have ever eaten. The biscuits and gravy were awesome as well. Highly recommend.
This was my first time at Hofer's and it was awesome. The food is authentic German food and it was delicious. You get plenty to eat and the beer was nice and cold. You can't go wrong at Hofer's. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area. The photo is from my lunch.

Hofer's Bakery and Cafe in Helen offers a wonderful breakfast and delicious, authentic German lunch options. Visitors praise the veal bratwurst and schnitzel sandwich. The bakery items, especially the doughnuts and fresh baked bread, are also highly recommended. The employees are kind and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Customers enjoyed the kids French toast with sausage and a side of corn beef hash. The Bavarian filled donut was the best donut ever had. Don't forget to try the chocolate drizzle cream puff. Go early for parking and no wait.
