“We ate at Hofer’s on our last morning at Helen, and we wish we’d have found it sooner! The food was absolutely to die for, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They noticed my 6 year old was eating heartily and made sure he had enough, and they took overall great care of us! I live hours away from Helen and would consider driving back just to have breakfast here! If you’re going thru Helen, make sure you put Hofer’s at the very top of your list!“

“Had lunch and ordered the Pork Schnitzel (2 tenderloins flattened to cover an oblong plate) with Bavarian gravy, my wife had Dinner Spatzle, also a large portion. The food was excellent. Heather C was our server and was also excellent. The indoor atmosphere was was very nice but went down hill fast when the accordion and tuba player came playing. The room size and acoustics are not suitable for very loud music. They apparently got their training from the 60s and 70s garage bands, can't play good then play LOUD and loud they were. Will go back but only when they are on break“

“We enjoyed very much our visit as we visit each trip to Helen. GA.
We had a wonderful waitress whom was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional 😀 also.
We stopped in for our traditional Ruber Sandwich for lunch, which is never disappointing 😞 they are huge too and served warm and packed with plenty of meat, red cabbage along with their WONDERFUL SAUCE warmed on toasted wheat bread (our request, in lieu of rye?
DELICIOUS. CARROT CAKE TO TAKE OUT! DELICIOUS ALSO
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!“

“Katie is no doubt the greatest server in Helen. Why you ask? Jokes, aura, and she filled beers to the brim, allowing my wife and I (who are from out or town) to try local brewski's, she gave phenomenal advice on in town bites, beers, and secrets. IF YOU COME TO HELEN AND YOU DO NOT SEE KATIE AT TOO TIRED TAVERN YOU ARE MISTAKEN.
don't be mistaken, don't read this review for nothing, have faith in your fellow neighbor, go see katie....or you are a weenie....and you will never know the hidden secrets.“

“Delicious✨. My family went there specifically because of the good reviews one of us was reading. I don’t know what site he was using but they were all outstanding, nothing less than a four star. I thought the place was amazing! We were served pretty quickly and the appetizers greatly appeased the wait. The loaded fries and chicken I got was DELICIOUS! I have never eaten anything better ? (I’m not a bot, I swear?). The servers were really nice, especially the guy on the phone when we called to ask about the wait (there was none!) They even pushed enough tables together to have our 19 people sitting at the same table (usually they say 15 people a table, max at other restaurants). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it??♀️. Highly recommend!“

“Overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant had a cool look. The potato pancakes were good- crispy on the outside. They had a hint of flavor, but needed more. It was great with the apple sauce. The pretzel was fluffy and soft with very delicious cheese! It was so cheesy and had a distinct taste. I think in general our problem was the good was bland. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it was good- the flavor coming from the burnt parts. I got the beef roast- it was good, but it was slathered in gravy. The carrots and potatoes needed seasoning. My son got the chicken schnitzel. It was soggy. The mashy potatoes had a good texture, but needed seasoning. The spaetzle was also soggy- maybe that's how they are supposed to be? I don't know much about German food, but maybe this is how it's supposed to taste?? We went back a second time and sat in a different room- there were no TVs and the lights were super bright so we got out food to go. The pretzel was just as good. The french onion soup was okay- probably better there. The mozzarella was not was stretchy/stringy as I remember. It also might not have been mozzarella- not sure. We also had a piece of German chocolate cake. It was good. The cake was moist and the cream was thick with coconut and nuts!“
