“Visited around 10am on a September Satuday morning. It was a little crowded, waited about 15 mins for a table. Well worth the wait, the customer service was great. Deeann was excellent. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. The order came out wrong but was quickly resolved. Them pancakes were excellent! I will return next time I'm in town!“

“Overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant had a cool look. The potato pancakes were good- crispy on the outside. They had a hint of flavor, but needed more. It was great with the apple sauce. The pretzel was fluffy and soft with very delicious cheese! It was so cheesy and had a distinct taste. I think in general our problem was the good was bland. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it was good- the flavor coming from the burnt parts. I got the beef roast- it was good, but it was slathered in gravy. The carrots and potatoes needed seasoning. My son got the chicken schnitzel. It was soggy. The mashy potatoes had a good texture, but needed seasoning. The spaetzle was also soggy- maybe that's how they are supposed to be? I don't know much about German food, but maybe this is how it's supposed to taste?? We went back a second time and sat in a different room- there were no TVs and the lights were super bright so we got out food to go. The pretzel was just as good. The french onion soup was okay- probably better there. The mozzarella was not was stretchy/stringy as I remember. It also might not have been mozzarella- not sure. We also had a piece of German chocolate cake. It was good. The cake was moist and the cream was thick with coconut and nuts!“

“My husband loves a good steak yet one is hard to find.We live in Atlanta an d one would think it would be easy.For our honeymoon we stayed in Helen. Cowboys & Angels andE the steak was good. Real good. So good in fact, for my husbands birthday hThis is the way service shoulde wanted to go back.So we did. two and a half hours and the steak was just as good as it was before, yetth second time was better.you see, our server was EXSEPTIONAL!!! Her name isAdrianne P. “My wife and I just returned from celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, at the Valhalla Resort Hotel. We absolutely LOVED it! The minute we drove up to the hotel’s front door, we were greeted by Steve, a tremendous valet! He genuinely treated us like we were the most important people in the hotel, right from the get go! Then, as we walked into the hotel, Judy welcomed us in with a smile, and explained to us what Valhalla had to offer. I felt like we were visiting with friends! Our room was beautiful, and quite festive, as our youngest daughter purchased the “Celebrate You” package for us! Later that evening, we went to have a drink at the Sky Bar, which has beautiful Mountain Views! Matt was the bartender, who fixed us an Old Fashioned, a Jalapeño Margarita. DELICIOUS! Matt is full of personality, and was right on point both days we spent time with him! Lastly, we met Jerry Murdock, the owner. Jerry was as kind as can be, and is an absolute riot! Thank you Valhalla, for helping to make our 30th wedding anniversary a most special one! We will be back!“

“Morgan did a great job as a new server! Other employees were very pleasant as well.
We started with a pretzel and bowl of goulash both of which we would recommend. For the entree I got the meal with three wurst sausages, sauerkraut and potato salad. My meal was very good. The sausages are huge. My wife got the sauerbraten. It was neither sour nor tender. It was more like dry pot roast. The dumpling was good but unremarkable.
There was a decent selection of German beers that are served in 1 liter mugs. I would request a cold mug. The handles to my mugs were warm. My beers were not as cold as they could have been.
The atmosphere was average. Nothing noteworthy. Outdoor bier garten or indoor dining.
One complaint I do have is the air conditioning ducts dripping condensation onto our table. I'm sure it was splashing onto our plates off the table as a drop or two landed on my hand. Unpleasant.
We recommend a visit though. Just avoid the sauerbraten and sitting under the a/c ducts.“

“We ate at Hofer’s on our last morning at Helen, and we wish we’d have found it sooner! The food was absolutely to die for, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They noticed my 6 year old was eating heartily and made sure he had enough, and they took overall great care of us! I live hours away from Helen and would consider driving back just to have breakfast here! If you’re going thru Helen, make sure you put Hofer’s at the very top of your list!“

“Well, my daughter and I ordered the goulash as we always do. Once again, it did not disappoint! Unfortunately, we forgot that this was during Octoberfest and the kitchen was pretty backed up. For the first time ever, my husband ordered a dish was subpar. The trout. It was cold and bland, and the same with the mashed potatoes. They were too coldbto melt butter. He will not be ordering that again. The Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese was awesome, as always! Our waitress was fun, though tired, and knowledgeable about what to do and where to go. Overall, it was still a fun night.“

“Delicious✨. My family went there specifically because of the good reviews one of us was reading. I don’t know what site he was using but they were all outstanding, nothing less than a four star. I thought the place was amazing! We were served pretty quickly and the appetizers greatly appeased the wait. The loaded fries and chicken I got was DELICIOUS! I have never eaten anything better ? (I’m not a bot, I swear?). The servers were really nice, especially the guy on the phone when we called to ask about the wait (there was none!) They even pushed enough tables together to have our 19 people sitting at the same table (usually they say 15 people a table, max at other restaurants). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it??‍♀️. Highly recommend!“
