“This place is where it's at! The food is absolutely amazing. We always end up orderimg the cheese curds twice, pro tip get them with the garlic Parm sauce. They also have some fantastic and authentic German sausages and pretzels with beer cheese. I'd you are one to accept a food challenge, they have a double burger challenge you can take on as well.Now we'll get into the bar and atmosphere. These guys have the cheapest bar in town and they are very well stocked. From regular well type drinks and beer to Johnny walker and cas amigos. They also have some really fantastic house drinks including my personal favorite the grateful dead, as well as some close contenders like the strawberry lemon drop and the pickle back.The servers are so welcomimg and warm you feel at home, but also k ow how to take care of business when they are super busy. Don't miss karaoke on Saturday nights. It's a blast. Definitely a place you don't want to skip when you come to Helen. Dan, the owner is a really cool guy and can be found working behind the bar like any other worker there.“

The experience has always been consistent where the margaritas and food are great, the staff are very friendly and attentive, and I get exactly what I expect. Good stop for flexible ovo lacto vegetarians as well - check out the mushroom & pepper quesadillas. Several patio tables for the fresh air.“

“We have been coming to Helen for over 20 years. Old Bavarian has always been one of our first stops. Tonight they served our Army reunion group, spur of the moment. They welcomed us, served 30 people, first rate delicious food and excellent service. We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We definitely will continue to come to this restaurant. “Delicious✨. My family went there specifically because of the good reviews one of us was reading. I don’t know what site he was using but they were all outstanding, nothing less than a four star. I thought the place was amazing! We were served pretty quickly and the appetizers greatly appeased the wait. The loaded fries and chicken I got was DELICIOUS! I have never eaten anything better ? (I’m not a bot, I swear?). The servers were really nice, especially the guy on the phone when we called to ask about the wait (there was none!) They even pushed enough tables together to have our 19 people sitting at the same table (usually they say 15 people a table, max at other restaurants). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it??‍♀️. Highly recommend!“
