“Great spot during Oktoberfest! For a town celebrating beer, most places seemed almost disdainful of anyone wanting to drink an actual German beer. The Tap Room owner had a better selection than the rest of the town, seemed knowledgable of his product, and actually seemed like the wanted people drinking something delicious.“
“What a wonderful sandwich and calzone we had here-an unexpected pleasure! The vegetarian sandwich with the funny name was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The service was great too; only two waitress were skillfully managing a full house.Vegetarian options: A wonderful vegetarian sandwich of roasted veggies-can’t remember the funny name.“
“The portions are very generous, variety of drinks, I'm not so sure about the atmosphere because I felt a slight sensation that I didn't belong there and I did notice a certain difference in how they treated the locals compared to us Latinos.“
“Slice of Helen in Helen, GA, is a charming pizzeria that offers delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. The menu features a variety of mouthwatering pizza options, made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The location in the heart of Helen adds to the charm, making it a great spot to grab a bite after exploring the town. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Slice of Helen is a must-visit for some tasty pizza in a welcoming setting.“
“Great place and great people. And we love the boiled peanuts! Awesome flavors and nice people. The man and woman serving the peanuts are polite and friendly. I definitely recommend trying the lemon pepper and Cajun peanuts and grabbing a drink on the patio area at two tire tavern.“
“Wow!! I didn’t eat, but their bourbon selection is INSANE. I’m not sure how people complain about smoking when they say they’re a bourbon and cigar bar. I live in Atlanta and it’s an amazing bourbon selection. Cigar selection is very good too. Bourbon prices are very fair. Wish the owner was my best friend, as they have some unicorns in the locked cages. Great bartenders too!!Update. Just met the owner. Nicest guy on the planet. A true bourbon fan and appreciated fellow bourbon enthusiasts. My jaw is still on the floor.“
“Great place to sit out and have a lovely meal and German beers looking out over to the river. Very dog friendly outside (they give your canine friend a cut up hot dog if you allow it).The schnitzel, potato pancakes and goulash were all delicious and came out nice and hot.The German beers were poured well in to appropriate steins. You can choose between 500cc or 1 liter pours. The schwartzbiers and festbiers we had were delicious.Service is excellent.“
“Went in on a rainy day in Helen on my birthday and Robbie was our server. Great guy, very caring and attentive to our needs. Can’t say enough good things about this place, been coming here for years, the best Reubens in town! Best service and ambience as well!“
“Pretty good spot for a Saturday night in Helen that overlooks the Chattahoochee. It’s mostly an older crowd here, but they have nice live music with songs that appeal to all generations. The drinks are about $8.50- 10 for a cocktail, and $6-8 for a beer. The blue lemonade cocktail was very good.I did notice staff tossing the contents of half-empty drinks over the deck railing and into the water instead of taking them to the back sinks/trashcans. This can’t be good for the river or the wildlife within it. Paul’s needs to have better business practices in this regard.“
“Great location by the river next to the main Helen bridge. The food is quite good while the pricing has increased more than many restaurants. The Muffaletta sandwich is outstanding and worth the trip! The club was good. At $15 you get chips or pay an uplift for a real side. There is no parking for this restaurant so add $10 for that and expect the sneaky credit card use fee.“
“The fried chicken was delicious!! The skin was so crispy and crunchy! The biscuits are light and fluffy, absolutely scrumptious! The fries could have been a little crispier for my taste but they were good. Sitting outside enjoying the beautiful Spring weather was great! Our server, Terri was terrific! She was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the area! We also met Mully, the owner. Everyone was so friendly, with great atmosphere and fantastic food!“
