An absolute must!
This is the ONLY food place in Helen above a 4.8 stars for a REASON! When the man at the cash register is covered in tattoos wearing Pit Vypers and a baseball jersey with a picture of the Milky Way on it, there’s only one of two ways your culinary experience is gonna go: horrible, or life changing.

Tucked away at the end of a small alley in Helen, GA, Snack Shack is where the locals get their pretzels. The pretzel comes in a pizza box and is the biggest, softest, and warmest around, with extra dip. The $15 Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese was the best pretzel ever, coming out hot as heck. The pretzel and pickle fries were the best, and the fried oreos and fried pickles with ranch are also highlights. Everything was fresh and delicious, from funnel cakes and cheese sticks to macaroni bites and fried green tomatoes. The staff is super friendly, kind, and good-spirited, with one nice guy even walking an order over to a nearby shop. It's a perfect spot for quick, delicious food with free water for pets. Don't be put off by the hole-in-the-wall vibe; the prices are great, and this is not the candy store. Stop by and you won't regret it.
