Place is beautifully put together and the folks are nice. But the service was two thumbs down and felt like a game of hide-and-seek—except we were always “it.” Even when the restaurant wasn’t busy, we had to track someone down for every little thing. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu and, for reasons unknown, was only given a butter knife to cut it. Nothing says “bon appétit” like hacking away at meat with the dullest tool possible. Not sure what the butter-knife-only policy is about, but it definitely made the meal memorable… just not in the way you hope. The dish itself wasn't fresh either and seemed pre-made then heated up. Wasn't happy.

My wife and I eat here for our anniversary and I can’t put the experience into words! The food was absolutely amazing and 100% the best German restaurant in town(I’ve been coming to Helen since 2004). Super authentic as the chef Aurel came out to ask how our meal was and spoke to us for around 20-30 minutes. Makes my wife and I who also cook very happy to see someone take such pride in their preparation. If you don’t try this place when in Helen you are missing out for sure! Thank you again Bodensee for such a great time!!!!!

Great dinner at Bodensee last night with out family. Great Octoberfest type atmosphere even the month after Octoberfest finished. Definitely the best German style Pretzel in town. The most authentic food as well. Highly recommended.

Excellent german food! Loved the schnitzel! Huge servings! Competitive prices. Fun place to eat. Good drinks and service. The four of us ate here twice during our stay. Tuba player and accordion player are very good and make it very fun.
