The Schnitzels were terrible, tough, hard to cut. The spaetzle were dry. If you wanted sauce you had to pay $3 extra. I had the Sauerbraten with potato dumpling and it was good. We told the waitress about the schnitzel, the manager came out and we showed her how hard it was to cut the schnitzel. She said they make the spaetzle in the morning and we could pour sauce on them for $3.00 extra. We ate less than half of the schnitzels and spaetzle.

This was probably the best food we had in Helen.

Nice way to end our last dinner before heading back to reality. This German place has great food and our server was awesome! Parking here is very hard to find and hidden but well worth coming to.

Awesome place, great food served with phenomenal service. My little girls( 5 and 3) loved the place, and they even walked away with Barbie dolls, treats, stickers, and lots of special attention. If we come back soon, then Iay have to BYOB(arbie). ??. Thanks so much for a great family experience.

Saurbraten was not marinated very well, meat was tough. Jagerschitzel was ok, not great. Service was very good.

Delicious & plentiful food. Sampler for 2 could feed three! Attentive service. Souvenirs could only be purchased with cash.

Where to begin… I’d give this restaurant a zero if I could. My daughter and I came for dinner at 4:45 on Tuesday afternoon – the place was practically empty which should have been a clue, but we’d read so many good reviews and decided to give it a chance. The dining room was closed, so we were seated in the covered back patio area. There were a couple tables with people, and it was well-staffed. Our waitress acknowledged our existence after about 10 minutes of waiting for menus. I got a beer and Hungarian Goulash, and my daughter got the Chicken Chef Schnitzel. We shared an onion soup as an appetizer. The table next to us was seated by two different families and both served a complete meal before we received our appetizer – and we never did see our waitress after dropping off our drinks. When our meals finally came, we had to walk around the restaurant searching each table for utensils and napkins – they’re kept in these little basket things fully open to bugs/dust/etc. on each table (yuck!)The onion soup broth was straight from a Campbells soup can and there was barely any cheese. Our dinners were absolutely disgusting and completely inedible. The goulash meat was tough and chewy and the sauce had a weird taste of BBQ – nothing like goulash, which I’ve had many times. The schnitzel had no flavor and the mushrooms were cold and raw. Both of our meals came with a side of Spätzle, and it was dry and tasted like it was straight from a box.We were finally able to flag down our waitress for our bill after being there for an hour and a half. When 10 minutes went by after taking our credit card, a manager came by to see if she could help us, and I told her we simply wanted to pay our bill and leave to get a decent meal to eat. She walked away and our $80 bill came a second later. Our waitress gave a lame excuse (lies) about the POS system not working – which wasn’t an issue with any other table. So disappointing and a complete waste of money! Avoid this place like the plague!

We arrived right when they opened and were greeted right away. We ordered the Sampler Platter for 2 which gives you a scoop of everything. There are many highlights here - the Sauerbraten, Potato Salad, and Sauerkraut are all above average. But the star of this platter was the onion gravy on the porkchop. A month later, we are still talking about that gravy. The Sampler platter was big enough, that we took leftovers home for a snack later. It's as good as the reviews say it is and should be a meal for anyone going to enjoy Helen. We were able to walk over from the hotel, and after crossing a bridge with a view of the river we were back to the shopping area. They also have kitties that hang out by the restaurant and enjoy a good petting. Come here hungry!

Quality of the food is declining with each visit. They change the steak cut and increased the price. We will definitely start trying other restaurants in the area, paying $156 plus tip just to get disappointed is becoming the standard for Bodensee.

We ordered the salad with dill dressing and sampler platter...both not good. Salad was drowning in dressing and the meat on the sampler platter was super dry. I lived in Germany 9 years and was craving authentic German food...this is not it.

Monique was very attentive and personable as our server. Whatever you order off the menu, it will be delicious! Great experience.

On a warm, humid afternoon, indoor seating was closed. Server was courteous and accurate, but the staff seemed disorganized, given the relatively low number of customers.

Tried German food for the first time, and it was quite tasty. The waitress was very friendly, a great variety of food and drinks to choose from depending on the time you go. The only downer is that you have to pay for water, but I guess it's part of the European experience.

We were recommended off the Georgia website to check it out. Waited by the entrance for about 2m for the hostess to be notified by a walking in staff that.. we were standing there waiting. Place was fairly dead. We both had the chefs snitzel and it wasn't bad but not worth going back for by any means. Looked to be some fairly better German spots in the town. Look around a bit more unlike we did before picking a spot.
