Best Reuben I’ve ever eaten! Great location.
Poor decor, does not fit theme of helen
I would rate a zero if I had a choice. My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 40 or so years and had made it our favorite. Yesterday we experienced a server's rudeness like we have never experienced before. Lucas got upset with my wife because after sitting for 20 or so minutes without service she stuck her head through the kitchen door to ask for some help. The cook said he would send a server out shortly. She later stuck her head through a mostly open door to retrieve some napkins that had not been provided. Lucas had already been out to chastise her for asking for help and for getting napkins. After our meal finally arrived( we had already been waiting almost two hours!), Lucas stepped out again to chastise her for getting the napkins. I had to have some words with him and told him we would never be back again. He kept up the prattle with his pipsqueak voice and I told him to step away from the table so we could try to have our meal. By this time we had already lost our appetites and asked Ray a nice server for a take home box. Both of us only had consumed a couple of bites of the sandwiches. We brought the remainder home only to toss in the garbage this morning. I figured Lucas had spit in our food. A lady was sitting behind us and said "What and A--hole!" She knows the owner by the way. Oh yeah, the kitchen was chaotic with a plethora of "F" BOMBS through out our two hours. They were yelling and fussing with each other. After spending two hours and having to deal with the rudeness, attitude and cussing, the table was sticky and the food was subpar. Have you ever been served a DRY Pastrami sandwich? We should have just walked out at the beginning, but my wife had been looking forward to going there for her birthday. Terrible experience that we will not put ourselves through again.
Ate her for dinner and ordered the popular rueben sandwich with sauerkraut and fries along with a baked Bavarian pretzel served with beer cheese. Very very good and excellent service and a lively fun atmosphere sitting outside. Will definitely return and try to have a dessert next time.
Live music was great, views were even better.

Lucas was a very good server. Kept checking in with me to make sure everything was ok. The trout, German potato salad, & red cabbage were delicious!
Awesome food. Great service.

Ate there today during Oktoberfest and it was a bit busy got quoted a 25 minute wait time and we were sat in 5 minutes. Ray was taking care of us and she was a delight, gave us amazing service even though she was juggling a bunch of tables and had a backed up kitchen and bar.

This used to be my favorite spot in Helen. The location remains great with a beautiful view of the river, but the food quality has dramatically declined over the years.
On my recent visit, I ordered a turkey sandwich that had burned turkey, and I found hair in my food. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I won't be back.

We were here before they opened and the general manager kicked us out.
We had lunch plans but decided to go elsewhere after her awful customer service.
Go somewhere they treat you right!

We stumbled upon Café International on a rainy evening in Helen and it turned out to be one of the best finds of our trip. The view of the river was beautiful, especially with the rain coming down in the evening, which made it feel cozy and memorable. Lucas was our server and he was phenomenal, so much so that we came back two nights in a row. The Chattahoochee Board was outstanding, full of flavor and presentation, and we loved it so much we ordered it both nights.
It was my wife’s birthday and they made it even more special by surprising us with an apple strudel on the house. You have to try it because it was absolutely delicious. She also had the best hot chocolate she has ever tasted and still talks about it weeks later.
Lucas went above and beyond, even recommending a coffee house that we stopped at on the next part of our journey, and he was spot on with that suggestion. Café International quickly became the highlight of our time in Helen and we cannot wait to return.

Terrible food and extremely OVERPRICED. My friend and I got a sandwich and it was so dried out. The Prime rib was overdone and tasteless.
We complained and they DID NOTHING.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS MONEY HERE. Get a beer and MOVE ON.
Very touristy and inadequate management. The management did not care at all when we complained.
Great music and atmosphere, but that's where the good time ends.

Right on the river, food was very good and our waitress was very nice. I was too busy eating to snap a picture.

Extremely overpriced small portions. Salmon was a small sliver that was overcooked. Mac bowl was cold and flavorless. The best thing we got was the mashed potatoes. Total waste of money. Will not be back.
Great spot right in the river! Beautiful views and ice cold craft beer pitcher. Great service from everyone, especially Phil. Ask for this guy. That’s Phil on the right.
