Caledonia Room at Valhalla Resort Hotel

When we got there, there was a storm so the place was a bit more empty than usual. However, the entire crew was super great and the chef even came out to meet and greet. Food was very good and the view amazing. Alexandria was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! I strongly suggest dining here even if you are not a guest. Pricey, but wonderful.

The food was amazing! From the Brussels sprouts, the salads, and the sea bass was superb! The wine list was amazing as well. The Chef came around to talk to the guests. The staff was very attentive. Definitely would go back again when in town.

Very welcoming front of the house staff. Attentive and helpful. However, the food quality was atrocious and I suspect they're attempting to pass off a slice of beef tenderloin as filet and flounder as Chilean Sea Bass. I haven't been this disappointed in the quality of food at a restaurant in a while. Front of the house cares... you can tell. But, the food is beyond substandard and nowhere near fine dining. BEWARE.

Found our new favorite place for a good meal! When I reviewed the menu I quite honestly wanted to try everything. My wife ordered the salmon and I got the pecan crusted trout. Both were excellent. The service was wonderful and we will be back!

What an amazing experience! While on vacation, we chose The Caledonia for my birthday brunch. We were not disappointed. The view was incredible despite the rain and heavy clouds masking the mountain view. Our server was delightful and on point with timing and order accuracy. We enjoyed our food beyond expectation. All menu items sounded delicious and if we lived in the area, we would be regulars! Because it was my birthday, they brought out a surprise 🎉 Highly recommend!!

My experience was amazing, went to celebrate wedding anniversary with my lovely wife. She ordered the filet mignon and I got the rack of lamb. Everything was decadent and amazing!

This is a beautiful place with outstanding service The executive chef Tim came over to ask how our food was and spent several minutes talking to us . I thought that was a very nice thing for him to do. He genuinely cares about his job and the satisfaction of his guests. Highly recommend the is restaurant!

We had Christmas Dinner at the hotel and it was the perfect choice. The BEST upscale dining in Helen, GA. The food was AMAZING! Staff, servers and guests were so nice as well. We will be back and I highly recommend this place!

Came with my family on Christmas Eve. We sat inside, and the atmosphere was simply beautiful. Many different Christmas decorations adorned the walls, and the fireplace at the center of the room really added a calm but luxury touch to the room.

Moving on to the food. I ordered the Norse Chicken. What I received was simply delightful. The chicken was perfectly cooked on the inside, while being excellently crispy on the outside. The Bechtamel Sauce paired perfectly with the chicken. The mashed potatoes that came with the meal was simply amazing. So creamy, fluffy, and not too salty. There were also assorted vegetables which came with the meal. The sliced zuchinni and the asparagus was simply delicious. It paired perfectly with the entire meal.

Finally, the service. What can I say, it was truly a lovely experience. Our server was dedicated, quick, and easy to talk to. Her service was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Caledonia room.

To sum this review up, The Caledonia Room is a perfect fine dining restaurant to indulge in meats, salads, and more. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at The Caledonia Room, and the next time I'm back in Helen, Georgia, I'll be sure to return. Exceptional. 5 stars!

Very disappointed in this “fine dining” experience. Seated promptly, the restaurant had only 2 other parties on a Sunday evening at 6:00 pm. Received our drinks promptly. After sitting for 45 minutes, I walked over the bar area to ask for bread, another cocktail, and see about our salad and appetizer. We received both 15 minutes later, apparently the cook had to make more bread (?!?), which was very low quality for this type of restaurant, I’ve had better at a chain steakhouse. When we ordered my husband informed them of an onion allergy. He woke up at 1:00 a.m. and spent over an hour in the bathroom with the impact of ingesting onion and again at 5:00 a.m. Absolutely horrendous experience top to bottom. We were guests at the hotel celebrating birthdays, Christmas, and Anniversary, and this was definitely the lowest point in our trip and we had really high expectations as the restaurants in Helen are casual and mostly German style food, we were looking for a actual fine dining experience. There was never an apology or explanation from the waitress as to the delay. I ordered the stuffed shrimp appetizer and the stuffed salmon entree and it was mediocre, at best. In addition, my husband ate breakfast one morning and did not return as the food was too greasy. He ordered classic eggs bacon breakfast and all were not cooked as requested.

First time going last Saturday night had a party of 10. For 8 of us it was our first time. It was the worst experience I had ever had at a restaurant. First of all we were not seated together even though we had reservations. They could have pulled our 2 tables together instead of side by side. Half of us got our salad and the other half did not get their salad until the other got their meal. The food was wrong from what was ordered. The food was not cooked right, we had to fill our own glasses of water. The waitress kept apologizing so not sure if the issue was the cook or they were short handed. Never heard from a manager. Thinking none was there. When you pay top dollar for a meal it should be very good and your experience should be very good as well. Will be our last time going.
