We went up to try some wine. They offered a mix of local wines and some others, including German riesling, mostly very sweet. The real problem is with the tasting experience. First, there was no dump bucket — the server seemed to expect us to chug each sample entirely. Second, she didn’t seem to know anything about the wine. “This one is made from red and white grapes.” Third, she was pouring and describing the next one before we’d finished the last, when no one else was really around. Local wines tend to be sweet, but there was no rhyme or reason to the selection and nothing she could tell us beyond “this one tastes like tootsie rolls.” So technically we tasted wines, but didn’t really have the chance to learn about them, just get a cheap, fast sweet wine buzz. Your mileage may vary.
