Paul's Margarita Deck Reviews
This used to be my favorite place in Helen, GA. This Sunday we came to watch the NFL game of the year. The server at the front bar turned up the game for us, and the restaurant manager, a little blond lady complained and made him turn down the volume even though we were the only 8 people in the whole place so we couldn't listen to the game. Then at 2pm, the band came on, still no one here but us. Then the band came on with 2 people here besides our party of 8. Then the band came...read full review
We are in Helen on our 5th trip. Each time we come, we try to get into Paul’s, as it came recommended by a friend a few years ago, and we always have heard big things about it. Each time we tried, there was always a long wait. LONG. Talking at least an hour. Must be good, right? This time in town we got right in. It’s the off season here in Helen. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Firstly, for all the for all the hoopla over the place, I expected to talk in to nice steakhouse. Wrong....read full review
My husband and I have been coming to Helen, Ga. for over 15 years. We started bringing our kids in 2015 and had a tradition of going to Paul's Margaritas every Saturday with our kids. Today we went at 11 to do our normal Saturday morning for wings, beer, and football and was told no one over 21, which it has always said but they had always let us in until a certain time. Today we were told, "not on a Saturday in October." We were extremely disappointed since this is something...read full review

Paul's Margarita Deck is a restaurant offering great drinks, such as electric margaritas, with a view of the river. The bar stool seating and full bar provide an enjoyable atmosphere, enhanced by music and a river view, although drinks are priced higher than local taverns. It is a fun place to grab food or drinks, family-friendly with a variety of seating options, and serves typical bar foods like a cheesesteak sandwich and chilli cheese fries. The restaurant has a juke joint atmosphere, open space, and crisp river breezes. Visitors find the atmosphere very chill and cool, with live music adding to the lively vibe. You can watch people floating down the river and listen to a band playing. The food is good and the craft beer doesn't taste like water. The deck remains comfortable even on cold days, thanks to heated fans and closed windows. Parking options include plenty of lots nearby, with some offering food and drink vouchers that can offset parking fees. The place is very kid-friendly, with high highchairs and entertaining music for children, though there is only one changing table in the women’s bathroom. The service tends to be quick. Overall, it's a popular spot for relaxing drinks with friends, enjoying a nice river view, and experiencing a lively, family-friendly environment.
