My husband and I have been coming to Helen, Ga. for over 15 years. We started bringing our kids in 2015 and had a tradition of going to Paul's Margaritas every Saturday with our kids. Today we went at 11 to do our normal Saturday morning for wings, beer, and football and was told no one over 21, which it has always said but they had always let us in until a certain time. Today we were told, "not on a Saturday in October." We were extremely disappointed since this is something we look forward to every year... my kids are now 20 and 18.... I actually need to thank them for their rude behavior this morning since it forced us to try a new place. The wings, ranch dressing, and other choices of food at the other place were not only better but significantly so compared to Margaritas... Thank you bouncer for the change of venue.

The atmosphere is good and I love that you can view the river and watch people tubing. But that’s about it. The service was mid only because it’s self service so not much service to rate since there is none. The food was pricey and taste very bland. My husband and I ordered 1 hamburger that came with chips, 1 cheeseburger with a side of cheese fries and two bottled waters. It came up to $45, in my opinion the burgers were big but no taste. They could’ve added some seasoning salt or something to it for the price. It’s not a bad place but not great either. I would recommend just going somewhere else if you’re looking for food but if you want drinks, a view and semi good music than this is a good place for you.

I had a very disappointing experience at Paul’s Margarita Deck. The staff, especially the lady taking orders, was extremely rude and unprofessional. What made it worse was the way she treated people differently based on their race — showing clear bias in how customers were spoken to and served. No one deserves to be treated that way. A restaurant should be welcoming and respectful to all guests, and unfortunately this place failed at that. I would not recommend supporting a business that allows such behavior.

We have a service dog. We stopped for a drink and a snack and had our dog. The woman at the entrance said we could not bring our dog in. We explained that he was a service dog. She then asked for what issue. We have never been asked that.. ever. My husband told her and she said.. nope.. cannot come in. That is against the ADA. we left and will never return, but will be reporting this issue.

I am not referring to the bar or food. I am only referring to the gaming machines. Do not use them as you will get ripped off. I had $50 in I won and the machine malfunctioned. I did everything that they told me to do regarding filling out a form that I was able to get online after scanning the machine waited a few weeks. Never received a check in the mail nor a phone call back. I called them several times because I had a typo in the name of the business but I corrected it immediately and now they told me that they are not sending me the money. So if you want to enjoy yourself go somewhere else. I know that there are machines elsewhere but I would not use those machines unless you want to lose your money!

One of our favorite spots to grab a weekend beer. They have some selection of decent craft beer that doesn't taste like water. The food is good as well. Nothing fancy, but good with the beer. The best part is atmosphere: drinking and looking at running water is the best. Overall would recommend as not too fancy place for weekends drink or two.
