My group of four stopped in for drinks. It was not busy and the service was great.

My wife and I were recommended this place as a high-end restaurant, so this review is based as if it is high end.
We were sat immediately. Our visit was during the off-season in mid January, so it's really easy to get seated quickly.
The dining area is basic at best. No real atmosphere to speak of. Doesn't tell the guest what kind of restaurant it is. No theme. Just basic.
Andy as our server was the highlight of the evening. He made some recommendations to us, kept our table cleaned, and kept our drinks full. We'll done!
I ordered the half-rack of ribs while my wife ordered the scallops. At an average restaurant, I would rate the food higher. In this case, however, the food as a high end restaurant could be better. The scallops were not seared. They were cooked to a good temp, but not seared. The ribs fell of the bone, but tasted like they had been under a lamp for a while. A little dry. That said, the sweet BBQ is excellent!!
Service GREAT and food is good. Overall, it is worth a visit.

Went to Paul’s Steakhouse to celebrate a birthday. We were seated right away which was nice given barely anywhere in Helen Rae’s reservations and we just had to hope to get in. We were seated right at the back in the corner which wasn’t fantastic but it did have a window view of the river which was nice.
Our server Jeff was wonderful. Very personable and patient. He checked in regularly and brought the food quickly.
My mum ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were HUGE and she said they were delicious. She got that with fries which were nice and hot.
I ordered the filet steak. Unfortunately it was very chewy. I had the baked potato loaded which was delicious. The potato came wrapped in foil with all the fixings so you could add what you wanted. The mashed potatoes were amazing!! Best part of my meal.
For the both of us it came out to around $100.

For all the hoopla behind it, the food was over salty, the steak was mediocre at best. So one and done.

This used to be my favorite place in Helen, GA. This Sunday we came to watch the NFL game of the year. The server at the front bar turned up the game for us, and the restaurant manager, a little blond lady complained and made him turn down the volume even though we were the only 8 people in the whole place so we couldn't listen to the game. Then at 2pm, the band came on, still no one here but us. Then the band came on with 2 people here besides our party of 8. Then the band came one, sang a few songs and then the band took a 45 minute break they did not need and we missed the whole game. We will never be back and we will tell everyone in Helen, GA and around to avoid this place. This is what happens when you hire the wrong general manager. Such a shame. Have to find a new place in Helen to hang out. This is not the place that caters to thier clients and what band needs a 45 minute break after playing 5 songs. Stay away and avoid this place. Why does the 1 person band need a 45 minute break just to get drunk and wasted
We are in Helen on our 5th trip. Each time we come, we try to get into Paul’s, as it came recommended by a friend a few years ago, and we always have heard big things about it. Each time we tried, there was always a long wait. LONG. Talking at least an hour. Must be good, right? This time in town we got right in. It’s the off season here in Helen. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Firstly, for all the for all the hoopla over the place, I expected to talk in to nice steakhouse. Wrong. Its decor is basic at best. Cheap plastic dollar tree Christmas lanterns on the tables with dollar store battery operated flicker candles that were almost dead. The vibe was disorganized. The seafood smell was overwhelming as someone that doesn’t do seafood. But we sat down, ordered our drinks and waited. I will say my margarita was delicious expect for the gnat my husband fished out of it. Couldn’t find our waitresses to get a new one. His Michelob Ultra was good… in the bottle. I ordered the 8oz filet Mignon, he order the special Prime Rib. Both were ordered medium rare. Mine was delivered rare. You could tell his prime rib had been cut then thrown on a flat grill…which you do not do the prime rib. My filet was grisly. His prime rib was bland. $145 dollars later we left completely disappointed. This place is so overpriced and overrated. Go someplace else. Save yourself the disappointment. Go down the road to Hofbrau house.
We came as a party of six. The service was terrible. Waited ten plus minutes before anyone even came to our table for the drink order. The waiter came to our table a handful of times then literally disappeared and we couldn’t find him again. Drinks were also terrible and constantly empty. Food was terrible. Our friend couldn’t even eat the steak because it tasted so awful. Paid $105 for our bill alone, gratuity was already added automatically at $15 since we were a party of six. Which is ridiculous the service was one of the worst experiences I have had. The service was awful, the food was awful and the drinks were awful. I will not be returning to this place. It’s a shame it is called a “Steakhouse”.
11/29/25, dinner for two, ribeyes were excellent, prepared just as we asked. Our waiter, Tyler, was spot on. Food was there very quickly, tea glass never emptied. Price was reasonable. Would highly recommend to anyone
Open late we were welcomed with open arms. The steak tips were fantastic!

The food and atmosphere were fine but what completely ruined this restaurant for me was the nasty manager, Deb. She followed us outside when we stepped out from the bar to smoke, weirdly glaring at us and rushing us. She was rude to us for no reason - it was like she resented our business. Granted the restaurant was closing in about 40 min and we were basically the only customers. But we were polite and mindful of the time. As we were walking out, we put money into the slot machines - the machine ate our money and she said we’d have to call the company and have them come out to refund us. Which wasn’t worth the time and effort but it was clear she didn’t want to be bothered with us. The only saving grace was the awesome bartender, Shannon, and her delicious martinis. She was a breath of fresh air after Deb’s ugliness.

One of the best bars I've been to. Immediately they treated us as regular and made every second of the bar fun in hoping to make this a yearly visits.

Bouncer denied our service dog entry and claimed we could have printed or forged our documents online. When we showed proof of our documents and disability, the bouncer double downed and said he was now denying us service and entry because we started videoing him breaking federal law (retaliation). Not following ACA guidelines and breaking federal law is not cool. I will never spend a single dollar here for as long as I live.
