Spice 55 Thai and Sushi restaurant

Order 2 simple rolls. Spicy tuna and a jb roll. Spicy tuna was served room temperature which was gross and the tuna was not fresh. I understand it's a sushi restaurant in the mountains but you don't ever serve warm sushi rolls when they are supposed to be a cold fish. JB was better but quality wasn't there. I'm coming from South Florida like many of the tourists here and I know it can't be as good but it can definitely be better.

Food was super delicious and presentation excellent. Waiter was very friendly and willing to help us pick out our dinner choices. Lobster and crab fried rice scrumptious. Cocktails superb. Loved my Asian Cowboy drink

We had curry puff, Masaman curry and pad Thai. All are very flavorful. The pad thai noodle probably could be rinsed a bit more to have a cleaner taste. The waiter was super kind and helpful.

Loved the service from Eddie and talking about our past visits to Thailand. He had great curry and sushi. Outdoor patio was good for us and all the staff is dog friendly.

If you’re visiting Helen, GA and craving authentic Thai (or sushi) — Spice 55 is an absolute must. My friends and I have made coming for Oktoberfest a tradition since 2023, and after discovering this restaurant, it’s become our permanent go-to.

From the moment you walk in, there’s a welcoming energy. What first drew us back was our server, Nick. Even when we just stopped in for drinks he was positive, attentive, and made us feel seen. The next day when we returned for food, everything Nick said about the food being the best in Helen turned out to be true.

The food? Outstanding. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, nicely presented. You can tell the kitchen cares. The menu is diverse, and whether you like things spicy, mild, with seafood, or vegetarian — there’s something great. The service matches the food — attentive, friendly, with personality. We never felt rushed; instead, we felt like guests who matter.

If you want a reliably fantastic meal in an otherwise tourist-heavy town with lots of German/American fare, go to Spice 55. It’s elevated Thai & sushi done right — 5 stars all the way.

My wife and I visited Helen GA in middle of September in 2025
After long day of shopping and hiking trails we went to Thai and sushi bar. We ordered 2 pad Thai with beef and shrimps and some hot source. Food was spicy , tasty and amazing.
Our server was younger gentleman Hayden. He was super nice and very helpful to help as to choose the right meal.
He is an excellent gentleman with good manners and good attitude.
Great place to stop. We always go back.

My mother, sister and I dined here on Wednesday night this past week and was one of the best dinners we’ve had in Helen, Ga.

We started with the Calamari, Salad with ginger dressing, and Hoochee's River Basket as our appetizers. The river baskets were amazing and had so much tuna we were all surprised that it could be classified as an app instead of a main course item. Then for dinner my mom decided to try out some sushi because she was so impressed by the Hoochee's River Baskets and got the Sexy Girl roll, which was once again delicious.

We all decided to do shareable for dinner and ordered Tofu Green Curry, Chicken Pad See Ew, and Panang Curry. Ordering all these different menu items and a variety of meats was a good choice because each dish was well complimented by the spices and flavors. None of the curries were too spicy and both DO come with rice (something we were a little worried about).

Last but not least, I do have to compliment our server Eddie. He was very attentive and welcoming. I had many questions and concerns about the sushi, as I like to know which ones I am eating before I try as a visual eater, and he was able to name each of the dishes that have a picture on the menu. I found that to be very helpful. We also chatted with Eddie about our time in Thailand which made him even more welcoming and he was enthusiastic to discuss about his home country. All in all, this restaurant was a great experience to be shared and we will be coming back again when we come to Helen the next time.
