Server was great but the food was atrocious. “Soft” pretzel was very dry and hard as a rock. Brat was in a soggy stale untoasted bun. Extremely overpriced for the quality. Out of all the options around I wish we hadn’t jumped the gun and chosen this one.

They have limited vegetarian & vegan options, when compared to the other restaurants in the area, they could do better. They have four vegetarian & vegan options, only one being a German one. These options are a vegan bratwurst, veggie burger, grilled cheese, and a veggie wrap. I ordered the Vegan Bratwurst, that comes with mashed potatoes, **The mashed potatoes that come with aren’t vegetarian or vegan** because they have bacon in them. I rated this restaurant 3 stars for service, because they originally brought me A MEAT BRATWURST, if I didn’t ask I would have eaten meat, when it comes to me being vegetarian I was upset about this. In the end all was worked out, and the vegan Bratwurst was quite good, but when compared to another restaurant: Cafe international, they had the same menu item. There’s was much better because it had a pretzel bun rather than a hoagie bun.

The soft pretzel was hard. The burgers were OK. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box and the brats were way under seasoned. Guess it's OK for a tourist trap
Atmosphere and waitresses were pleasant. Food was subpar at best. The fried pickles were soggy. The beer cheese and the cheese on the fries came straight out of a can for sure. The hamburgers were Bubba burgers from Sam’s or Costco. The chicken ranch wrap was not edible. The sausage/bratwurst was not completely done. For the price that we paid, this dining experience was unacceptable. I definitely would not recommend this place to eat.

This spot has a very bar-like vibe with a focus on sandwiches, so if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s a great place to check out. We ordered a pretzel, but it wasn’t the best one Helen has to offer.
That said, our waitress Chloe was so accommodating and sweet, which made the experience enjoyable. Overall, it’s a good place to relax and grab a bite if you’re in the mood for a laid-back atmosphere.
The Troll Tavern was on point! Great food, even better beer, and service was on point. Cool atmosphere and location as well! Will definitely be a returning stop when we come back to Helen!

Cool place with a nice view of the river but the food was not great. I had the chicken ranch wrap it was mid and had a long black hair in it. Very sad. But my friends fish and chips were better. Another friend would give the brawtwurst a 2.5 / 10. Come to drink don’t eat
