Hawg Wild BBQ & Catfish House of Hiawassee

40min for a takeout 3 tables and 4 servers. Absolutely ridiculous 🙄 will not be back. Complete train wreck

We always eat here a few times while we're up seasonally. Sometimes you can tell that they're understaffed, but the servers are getting things done and so friendly and helpful. Their fried green tomatoes and onion rings are the best I've had--no frozen, pre-made food here! The catfish can be great but also can be mushy--not bad or undercooked, just soft. If this happens, tell the server and they'll get you something else. Journie was such a big help when I left my leftover container there. When we came back awhile later, she checked to see if it was still at the bar. It wasn't, but she got me a replacement, even the yummy spicy ranch dressing I was looking forward to eating my carrot fingers with!

The meats are great, and the portions are big. They even have a full bar and happy hour 4-6. I highly recommend this place!

Went and ate here for the first time last week. The atmosphere was great with an amazing view of the lake. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Although the fried fish and shrimp were okay I probably wouldn’t get them again. The bbq was great. Without a doubt the best brisket I’ve ever had. Also the pulled pork, ribs and brunswick stew were great. The only thing I wasn’t happy about was the price. We got the 3 meat platter and they charged us $10 extra to get ribs as one of the three. Have seen an extra charge at other places to add a certain meat but that is outrageous. We eat at similar places and get about the same food for alot less. After the normal tip the total was $90. Too much for two people. Will definitely go back but will probably just get a brisket or pulled pork sandwich.

While the view is great, the service is slow. We were seated and, after 40 minutes, still didn't have our food. People seated after us were already finished eating. Just don't waste your time! There are other nicer places around if you want good food.

We always love hog wild when we come to hiawassee but what puts the cherry on top was the wonderful service we got from Liz you could be so lucky if you get her as your server I wish every server was half as nice as she is thank you Liz for your wonderful service

Our family had a wonderful lunch, the food was delicious. Liz, our server, was absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely return again on our next visit to Hiawassee.
