This is a great side-of-the-road bar-b-que place that NEVER has enough seating. If they extended the back deck for more lakeside seating the line would wrap around the lake!! Incredible bar-b-que, even makes a salad taste good! If you have to choose between here or the lake then I will see at The Happy Hawg!!

I was really disappointed in the food here. Hubby bought the brisket sandwich and I bought the sliced turkey plate with macaroni and salad. The meat was terribly dry on everything! You have to douse in the sauce just to get it down. The flavor of the meat was good but the meat was dry, dry, dry. The macaroni was like out of a box… won’t ever eat here again. My meal was 85.00. Won’t do this again

This was a hidden gem! The brisket is delicious as well as the turkey!
This place was the highlight of our trip to North Georgia! We loved the chopped pork, and the banana pudding. The collards had pieces of sausage which gave it a great flavor. Coleslaw was a nice accoutrement. I appreciated they had SC mustard sauce even if it isn’t traditional for that area. The star was the banana pudding, great flavor and the Nila wafers were cakey and so yummy! We attended a wedding later that night and this food was more memorable!
The view were great on the patio. The food, not so great. Our group of 6 all ordered pulled pork or pulled chicken sandwiches and the meat was dry and lacking in flavor. Smothering it in sauce was an improvement. The potato salad was liked but the Mac and cheese was similar to Stouffers. Quite disappointed but it did fill out bellies.

The Happy Hawg catered a welcome party for my son’s wedding this past weekend. The food was exceptional!!!! The service was impeccable!!!! The entire planning process was great. I live several hours away and with the exception of one in-person meeting, everything was done via email. Justin was so easy to work with. He is a man of his word. I HIGHLY recommend Justin and The Happy Hawg. You will not be disappointed.

Not only do my husband and I love to eat at the restaurant, but I also place bulk orders when we have guests staying with us. Such an easy DELICIOUS meal to serve. All our houseguests fall in love with the barbeque at first bite, and subsequently request a Happy Hawg meal during their future stays. I always buy extra pulled pork and baked beans because I freeze these items for future meals. I also use some of their pulled pork in my homemade vegetable stew. Eating at Happy Hawg will fill your stomach with THE BEST bbq (no fat or gristle!) and sides you ever put in your mouth! Be careful, you might eat like a "hawg" there, but, boy-o-boy, you will be happy!
The service here is worse than you can probably imagine. They make the DMV feel like Disney World. The chicken wings (which taste boiled) are small enough to fit two next to each other in a shot glass. Try one of the other bbq places around and avoid this tiny place.

I'm from out of town and I have never been here before today. I wanted some stew to go,I thought I would try this place. The stew was great! The cashier very rude.the cook or line person put my stew in a bag no silverware and the lid was not on good by the time I got to my destination it ha spilled in the bag . I did manage to get a few bites in. Very disappointed with sevice.
