After seeing the great reviews, I had been meaning to try this place.
Another customer and I had arrived just a few minutes before their 11 o’clock opening time. As we waited patiently at the picnic tables, we saw the “open“ light come on, right on schedule.
As I reached for the door, the woman inside bluntly jerked the doorknob out of my hands and barked “IT’S GOING TO BE FEW MINUTES!!” Before I could respond she proceeded to stomp right past me and order the other gentleman out of his seat so she could rearrange tables.
I decided there are too many other good barbecue places in town for me to want to put up with that level of surliness, so I left.

Aleta took care of us during our visit. The food was scrumptious, well seasoned and high quality. We ordered the beef brisket family meal that feed us 4. The food was so good we ordered an additional family meal to take home. Aleta took our order and served us. She sure made the experience the best!!

The Happy Hawg was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the service truly made the experience unforgettable. Our waitress, Aleta, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — she was friendly, attentive, personable, and had such a great attitude the entire time. She made us feel genuinely taken care of and added so much to our visit. It’s rare to find service this outstanding these days, and Aleta absolutely deserves recognition for how incredible she was. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend The Happy Hawg to anyone looking for great food and even better service!
We had the brisket and the chicken and 4 different sides. Slaw, Mac n Cheese, baked beans and tots for the kids. Meat was top tier in every way. Wife said the beans were the best she has ever tasted. Did not think we could find a place that was close to our favorite old fashioned BBQ place back home. Hate to admit it but some dishes might have been better. Place was packed and they still managed to take care of us. Only place we plan on going to for BBQ when we are back in town.
We hosted a lake day for our family and had picked up Happy Hawg catering—and wow, it was a huge hit! We went with the smoked chicken and brisket along with potato salad and slaw, and everything was absolutely perfect. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, the brisket was incredible, and the potato salad might be the best I’ve ever had. And don’t even get me started on the sauces—so good! I’m getting hungry just writing this review. Excellent BBQ all around!
