Jimmy’s Steak & Seafood is a charming little ma-and-pa style café right in the heart of a small town—it has that familiar, welcoming atmosphere you want from a local spot. The servers are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you sit down.
The food is good overall, though prices feel a bit on the higher side for what you get. The mushroom appetizer ($7) is a standout—fresh, hand-battered, and delicious, though the portion is pretty small, just a handful on a large plate. The small salad ($7.50) comes with plenty of toppings and tastes fresh, but artificial bacon bits and packaged dressing take away from an otherwise great start. There is no longer a salad bar (removed since COVID), so older reviews and photos online can be a little misleading.
The steak is cooked well and flavorful—$33 for a 16 oz meal feels fair for the quality, but still something to note if you're budgeting. Drinks run around $3. Sweet tea is made daily, though by dinner time it’s not as fresh as it could be.
Overall, it’s a cozy, hometown restaurant with good food and great service—just expect slightly higher prices and a few modern shortcuts that take away from the fully “homemade” feel. Still, worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving a hearty meal with small-town charm.

Good food for the price. Service could be better. My waitress was attentive however I was initially ignored by 2 ladies near the hostess stand. Both looked at me but didn’t acknowledge my presence. If the staff were trained on hospitality, this place would do a lot better. Overall not a bad experience so I will be back.

When I go on trips, I like to eat at local places I can’t find at home. We really lucked out finding this place. So delicious!! Best steak I’ve had in a long time, no steak sauce needed!!! Staff was extremely friendly and made an out of towner feel like a local. Highly recommend!

Really really good double cheeseburger that was cooked perfectly for me [medium]. Loved the fried green tomatoes as well. Batter was crispy and the tomatoes were fresh. The place needs a little house keeping but nothing that bad. Maybe a fresh coat of paint. Definitely will be back.

Was not impressed with the food. Food was cold. Steak came out rare when ordered med well. Not to mention, ordered filet mingnon and it tasted like mystery meat. Sautéed mushrooms were very dry. Had to ask for new silverware because there was dried food on silverware that was given to us. Much more.

Good food. Service was good once we were seated. Stood there for about 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. Atmosphere wasn't terrible, but a couple next to us were very rude and cussing loudly.
