Zachry's Riverhouse (No Reservations)

Just ordered takeout crab cakes with cheese grits and “Asian” cole slaw. When I got back to my room to eat I noticed there were no hush puppies even though I think they were supposed to be included. The crab cakes and cheese grits were okay but nothing great. The “Asian” cole slaw was not Asian at all but looked and tasted just like very old cole slaw so I didn’t eat it. Someone needs to check on it because I think it needs to be thrown out. Very disappointing.

This place serves a lot of seafood. Olivia was our server - she has the best giggle and smile!! We arrived near closing time, but they treated us like royalty. Very nice place!

Sat outside with a nice breeze and enjoyed a good cocktail (Captain colada) before dining on a perfectly cooked burger and some fresh fish (I forget the name and had not heard of it before but it was cooked nicely and delicious). Asian slaw could have used some more dressing but the part that was dressed was good, as were the other sides (normal slaw and green beans).

The service was relatively fast and very friendly. The food was reasonably priced but just ok. My grilled shrimp was overcooked and had too much pepper and not enough salt. The Asian slaw has potential, but just wasn't anything amazing. My husband said his crab cakes were ok but not great. The key lime pie was definitely not a traditional key lime pie and had a very artificial tasting lime syrup drizzled on it. I'm not sure I would eat there again. Maybe the fried seafood would be better?

Zachy's is both fresh and reasonably priced. The cheese grits and collard greens where also delicious. This is down home South Georgia with a bay view. Great food, great prices, great service and and great atmosphere!

A great family dining experience! A truly legitimate local seafood restaurant with catch of the day. I had swordfish, my daughters had crab cakes. The hush puppies are unique and delicious. Located next to a boat dock where you might catch a glimpse of the manatees grazing on sea grass. This was a wonderful vacation experience for dining out. Thanks Susan for the 5 star service!
