We used Firefly for drop-off catering services for our microwedding in 2025. It started with a tasting at their home where the food was incredible. There were some tweaks we asked them to make which were all made by wedding day. They were also very open to making the changes we asked for from the original menu. Even if something is not listed on their online menu, they are willing to work with you to see if it's something they can do. The execution day of was slightly off schedule but everything was ready by reception time and we were none the wiser until after the wedding thanks to our coordinator. The meal was one of the highlights of the night and our guests still rave about the food today!

Promising at first, troubled in the execution. Our initial experience with Firefly catering was great. Our tasting was comfortable and personable, and the food was incredible - packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Their fully custom menu can be a bit daunting at first, i.e. where do you start and what if you don’t know what you want, but they can guide you through all of that to land where you need for your event. We even had them add a Mac and Cheese bar for our guests!

However, after the tasting, communication seemed to falter. I have seen other reviews that hint at a medical emergency at the time to which we don’t blame but also did not know of anything from our end. To us, it just seemed that they were too busy and overbooked themselves for this season, which besides a possible medical emergency, is very likely they did. I even had to remind them about upcoming payments we needed to make. We booked our final review meeting about two weeks prior to the wedding to which they stood us up. We had to call and email multiple times to get them on the phone to go over our final menu, guest count, etc. On this call, we had to remind them of many of our preferences and notes from our tasting, plus that we booked bartending services through them as well.

On the wedding day, everything seemed to go fine, but there were a few surprises as the evening went on. We had mini pies which were supposed to be for dessert, but they had placed one of the pies (pecan) out during cocktail hour, a fault they admitted was theirs. You would think not the biggest deal, but it caused us to run out of the dessert silverware when dessert was actually served, thus we had guests coming to us (Bride and Groom) asking if there was more silverware – not something we should be worried about at our wedding. Additionally, we had preferences for the Mac and Cheese that were not noted after our tasting and thus not executed on the day of, another fault they took responsibility for.

The biggest issue we faced was with the bartenders, ie the ones they seemingly forgot about two weeks prior. We provided all the alcohol for the event (minus espresso martinis which were provided by Firefly) plus the ingredients and recipes for our signature cocktails. The bartenders were allowed to batch make the cocktails, but they failed at executing the recipes. One of the most popular drinks, the apple cider margarita, ran out well before it should have if the recipe was followed correctly, thus that drink was not able to be enjoyed as it should have been. Additionally, there were some other issues with service that we were not happy with.

In the end, Firefly put forth a good effort with great tasting food but lack luster bartending services and communication. While we believe they had good intentions and wanted to execute everything well, the premium we paid for their services over others may not have been worth it.

We used firefly for our wedding.
Stephanie and Ryan were absolutely amazing! From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and so easy to work with. The food was delicious, and I would definitely use them again for any future needs! Every detail was handled perfectly, and they made our day feel effortless. We can’t recommend them highly enough!

Celebration of Life

Very sad to say I was very disappointed.
When I first reached out to this company, I explained that the event was for my daughter’s Celebration of Life—she had just passed away. She absolutely loved queso, and one thing I really wanted at the event was a queso fountain. I couldn’t afford full catering, but was thrilled when they agreed to rent out just the fountain. In their email, they confirmed they would arrive at 1:30pm and set up the beautiful queso fountain with chips and pico e’ gallo for the guest who arrived at 2pm. Then come back at 6pm to pick up the equipment. However, they didn’t arrive until almost 3:00 PM. I had to call them myself, and was told an email had been sent 45 minutes before my call—there was no such email in my inbox or spam folder. The person they sent openly admitted to me and several guests that he didn’t know how to set up the fountain. The person sent admitted he didn’t know how to set up the fountain, he was on his phone during the actual service, while family and friends were speaking. It was incredibly distracting and disrespectful. After an hour or so, he gave up; simply heated the cheese, poured it into the bottom of the fountain, and told others (not me) we’d have to keep refilling it ourselves and he left. Yes, left. I was informed (by guests, not directly) “I” would need to call the owners to receive a refund, and I would need to meet them to return the equipment. At the end of the event, I was informed (by guests, not directly) that he told several people I would need to call the owners to receive a refund, and I would need to meet them to return the equipment. Really? After all that, I was expected to chase them down? Let me be clear: I am grieving the loss of my only child, my world. This company had one job—the one thing I was most excited about—and they completely failed. And on top of that failure, they placed the burden on me to reach out for a refund and to return their equipment.

Let me be clear: I am grieving the loss of my only child, my world. This company had one job—the one thing I was most excited about—and they completely failed. And on top of that failure, they placed the burden on me to reach out for a refund and to return their equipment.I attempted to contact them starting Sunday, September 28, 2025, and received no response. When I finally got Scott (one of the owners) on the phone on Tuesday, he said he couldn’t talk and would call back Wednesday. I called all morning Wednesday—nothing but voicemail. While I was typing this review, I finally received a call—but not from the owners. After multiple messages clearly stating I was still waiting on a full refund and that they needed to retrieve their own equipment (I do not feel I should have to meet them), the caller began the conversation with:“Stephanie wanted me to call and see what it is that they could do for you.” Excuse me? No apology. No accountability. Just… what can we do? I told her exactly what I had already made clear: I want a full refund. Still, no apology or acknowledgment of the situation—she just asked, “what about the equipment?” I told her: once I receive the refund, I’ll give them my address and they can come pick it up. Do yourself a favor—do not use this company. They failed at every level: punctuality, professionalism, execution, empathy, and basic customer service. And to do this at such a deeply personal and painful event is beyond unacceptable.

10-09-25 Stephanie finally sent an appropriate email and claimed they were issuing a full refund, however there still has been no refund received to date.

We used Firefly for a bridal shower. We did a large charcuterie board for about 20 people. It was phenomenal! Everyone loved it, it was well presented, it was delivered on time, and we actually had a little bit left over. Portions were perfect. Stephanie was so awesome to work with and we will definitely use them again.

Stephanie and her team were wonderful to work with. The food was outstanding and while I may be biased, I heard nothing but compliments about the food and service from our guests.

Brides and anyone else searching for reliable, professional, and communicative catering for their wedding or event — do yourself a favor and keep looking. Truly. Save yourself the stress, confusion, and hours of wondering whether your caterer is going to honor their commitment.

My fiancé and I are getting married on October 25, 2025, and we had chosen Firefly Catering to provide a simple BBQ buffet for our intimate outdoor reception. We started working with them in August, exchanged multiple emails to finalize our meal and quote, and were ready to pay since we nailed down the details. Everything seemed fine — until it suddenly wasn’t and we were ghosted.

After sending our final setup details in mid-September, we heard nothing back. We followed up several times and finally received an automated “out of office” message saying they were busy at events and would respond as soon as possible. Spoiler alert: they didn’t.

Almost two weeks later, we got an email from someone else at the company we had never corresponded with saying Firefly was no longer accepting new events due to a medical emergency. The confusing part? Ours wasn’t a new event — we were already booked. We tried calling and emailing multiple times to get clarification and reassurance, but communication completely vanished. We were told that we’d receive an email with details regarding their commitment, yet days went by with no follow-up.

Our wedding is now only 2 weeks away, and we have no confirmation, no contact, and no food for our wedding. We understand that life happens, and we truly wish the owners well. That aside, the lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism throughout this process has been incredibly disappointing. Brides and grooms deserve better than to be left guessing if they are going to be able to provide food for their guests who have traveled near and far to celebrate what should be a special and joyful day. Firefly has taken away that joy so close to our wedding and has instead replaced it with stress and chaos as we flounder for a plan B.

Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would strongly suggest finding another catering company — ideally one that actually honors their word and commitment and responds when you reach out, as a proper business should.

Firefly Catering handled our wedding reception and we couldn’t be happier. Our guests were still raving about the delicious food (taco bar with a queso fountain, dessert shooters, delicious apps) for hours after the event. They were on time, and kind, professional, and very talented!

Firefly is great! Lots of really tasty options to choose from, and all of the food is high quality restaurant-grade. They are passionate about their work and will cater to every need large or small. The mac ‘n’ cheese bites were our favorite!

We had the pleasure of working with Stephanie, who accommodated our many changes and requests for our wedding catering. We were a fully vegan menu, and we wanted to have a pizza station. Which they went above and beyond to have set up early before the ceremony and they personally made the pizzas right on sight for our guests. The staff even helped to set up our decorations and tables in between the ceremony and reception. They were very understanding when we had to decrease the number of guests we originally quoted. My only set back is that I specifically asked for black and gold plates and utensils, and they provided white and silver.

Stephanie was great to work with! I felt very comfortable with the company and they even made my Christmas hot chocolate bar come to life beautifully. The food was great and everyone was talking about what a hit our taco bar was! They even delivered linens early in the morning and came back and set up all the food! 10/10

Chef Ryan and Stephanie catered our wedding about 2 weeks ago. They're both so wonderful to communicate with, extremely professional, and the food is AMAZING! Once my husband tasted Chef Ryan's cooking, he told all our guests how amazing it would be leading up to the wedding. And Chef Ryan certainly didn't disappoint (even our picky guests were impressed)! They put so much care into the entire experience, I felt like I was a friend. If you need catering, stop looking and book them! And do the tasting- it's an experience well worth it! Thank you guys for an incredible wedding meal <3

Garbage Cattering. They put the Romain in garbage bags and the grits in home depo buckets. I can’t even make this up. All the workers were hammered drunk

Firefly were very easy and amazing to work with. People were always telling me that wedding food isn’t good. But, when firefly catered to my wedding plates were left clean. The food was AMAZING. There’s a reason why they have 5 stars. Thank you for making my special day that much better!
