“We dined in at Copeland's of New Orleans Kennesaw for the first time on a Saturday morning. I happened to be scrolling on social media a few days before and came across the special 50% off brunch promotion that they ran the Saturday before Labor Day. Because I had recently dined at the Cumberland location and enjoyed the brunch, I told my family and we decided to go.

We arrived early because we anticipated a line. There was a line forming before 10 AM, but no one was rude or trying to force their way ahead of others. We were able to sit immediately after they opened due to arriving early. The brunch selection was very similar to what I experienced at the other location with a few new things that I enjoyed. They had two sections of food with the breakfast bar including salads, fruit, desserts and typical cajun breakfast foods. The lunch options included baked chicken, grilled chicken, jambalaya pasta, spinach dip, rice, mashed sweet potatoes, vegetables and more. My favorites were the peach biscuits (STAR of the show!), beignets, peel and eat shrimp (hint of spice with Old Bay served cold but packed with flavor), fried shrimp, cheese grits and potatoes. I really loved the peach biscuits. I tried a piece of grilled bbq chicken breast as well and was surprised at how flavorful it was!

The staff and our server were friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and the food was good and the 50% off special was an amazing value. We will be back!”

We had onion bhaji for appetizers, and they were really delicious, especially with the sweet brown sauce and the onion relish. I had a chicken vindaloo, and Lara had palak paneer. They very politely asked what spiciness levels we wanted (from 0 to 10)... I said 7 and the waiter raised his eyebrows, but nodded. Lara said "Zero!" Their freshly-baked naan was superb, and they had many varieties of it. Lara ordered a chai, and I tasted it. She had a hard time getting it back from me! We highly recommend Prince Palace Indian Bistro!”

The brussel sprouts were solid. Great experience and it was made even better by Travis.”

“Last week stopped by Big Shanty Smokehouse in Kennesaw, Georgia. I’ve been going here for years and always has been one of my favorite places in Georgia. Paul Holden of Willingham's World Champion BBQ recently took over as the new owner in August and excited to see what he continues to bring. He’s top notch pitmaster in the competition world but also has been in the restaurant business as well. I got the brisket which was amazing and also some of their signature Turkey ribs (Friday Special) and of course some Brunswick stew and Mac & Cheese. Everything was very good and will be back soon. We were the only people in there for about 15 minutes, we arrived around 5:15/5:30p. But as we ate, a line of patrons formed. We were glad to see that. My only issues were the music (loud and kind of weird), and there was a VERY off-putting odor that we noticed immediately upon entering, that got much stronger as we approached the counter. We almost opted to take our food to-go because of it. It was a mix of bathroom smell and maybe some sort of ammonia cleaner. So bad! We went the farthest from the counter to eat where it was less noticeable. I sincerely hope this was a one-off issue because it’s the only thing that would keep us from returning, and we’d really like to return! (No stars off for that because I want to support this wonderful local business.)”

“We came to IHOP this morning to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and unfortunately, our experience with our first server was very disappointing.

When she first approached our table, she did not introduce herself or tell us her name. She asked if we were ready to order drinks, and we told her we needed a little more time. When she returned, I asked if the apple juice was from the fountain. She said no, so I politely asked what brand it was. She appeared annoyed, rolled her eyes, and walked away to ask someone. When she came back, she simply asked, “Do you want it?” I said yes and thanked her.

When she brought the apple juice, she literally tossed the straws onto our table. Her overall attitude came across as condescending, impatient, and rude.

I have worked as a server for 25 years and have trained servers in hospitality, so I completely understand that working with the public is not always easy. That is exactly why I initially gave her grace. However, when the attitude continued, I decided it would be better to quietly ask the host if we could move to another table and have a different server. I didn’t explain why because I didn’t want to make a scene, especially on my daughter’s birthday.

Thankfully, we were then taken care of by Maya, and the difference was immediate. Maya approached our table with a smile, introduced herself, was welcoming, and answered every question I had without making me feel like I was bothering her. She showed us the type of service and hospitality that guests should receive.

Thank you, Maya, for turning our experience around and helping us enjoy my daughter’s birthday. Your kindness and professionalism were truly appreciated.”

“About a month ago, my wife and I visited VAMOS PAL CAFETAL for the second time. The place looks decent, and at the beginning the waitress was attentive and polite. My wife ordered a “picada,” which she did not enjoy at all. It was missing several items that are normally part of a traditional Colombian picada. We are both Colombian, so we know exactly what this dish should include. In my case, I ordered a breaded pork cutlet (“chuleta a la milanesa”). As soon as I cut the first piece and took a bite, I immediately noticed a horrible taste, as if the meat was spoiled or no longer fresh. It was so bad that I almost felt sick. I called the waitress right away, explained the situation, and expressed my complete dissatisfaction. She took the plate away, and we decided to ask for the check. What was truly disappointing is that no one ever came to our table to apologize — not the manager, not the cook, no one. It was as if nothing had happened. We paid and left, and we made the decision not to return. Unfortunately, based on this experience and the lack of basic customer service, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Be cautious and consider other options.”
