“We came to IHOP this morning to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and unfortunately, our experience with our first server was very disappointing.

When she first approached our table, she did not introduce herself or tell us her name. She asked if we were ready to order drinks, and we told her we needed a little more time. When she returned, I asked if the apple juice was from the fountain. She said no, so I politely asked what brand it was. She appeared annoyed, rolled her eyes, and walked away to ask someone. When she came back, she simply asked, “Do you want it?” I said yes and thanked her.

When she brought the apple juice, she literally tossed the straws onto our table. Her overall attitude came across as condescending, impatient, and rude.

I have worked as a server for 25 years and have trained servers in hospitality, so I completely understand that working with the public is not always easy. That is exactly why I initially gave her grace. However, when the attitude continued, I decided it would be better to quietly ask the host if we could move to another table and have a different server. I didn’t explain why because I didn’t want to make a scene, especially on my daughter’s birthday.

Thankfully, we were then taken care of by Maya, and the difference was immediate. Maya approached our table with a smile, introduced herself, was welcoming, and answered every question I had without making me feel like I was bothering her. She showed us the type of service and hospitality that guests should receive.

“Went in early this morning to try something new(hate trying new things) And was not disappointed ❤We just found our brand new breakfast spot. The service was amazing. They were so kind everybody in back of house came out to say hello. The food was phenomenal. We got the strawberry waffle and the French toast and we ate all of it. The atmosphere was chill,calm, felt very homey. we can’t wait to come back!“

Therefore I decided to take my daughter here this morning for breakfast, and it was both of our first time going. Let me just say that I was thoroughly pleased with the experience from the time we walked in until the time we left. The establishment itself was nice, and the customer service from every staff person we encountered was awesome! And the food just took everything to another level. I had the five and dime chicken sandwich with sausage gravy, and my daughter had the regular chicken biscuit. My daughter enjoyed her chicken biscuit, but the five and dime chicken biscuit I had made my taste buds do a dance! It was great! And if all of that weren't enough, the prices are extremely reasonable and the quantity of food hit the spot. Maple Street Biscuit Company has not seen the last of us. I can't wait to get back and try some of their other menu items. Salute to the whole team at the Kennesaw location!“

But I'm an easy-going guest; more importantly, the entire staff (cooks included) is absolutely wonderful toward my little girl, who has no inhibitions about making herself right at Waffle Home 🤦 lol.
