When I go to pick up the pizza it is $29.63. When I questioned the price I was told they don't keep up with the prices on the web site. No other explanation just kind of looked away and went about their next order. The pizza was good but not up to their usual standards. So if you look at their web site be sure to ask the price when you order because it will most likely be higher and in this case quite a bit.”

The hostess told us about the nominal cover charge and that they have table service for drinks. We sat down with a couple my wife knew and waited for a server. 15 minutes in and no server in sight? My wife goes to the bar to order and was told to wait for a server. OK, 10 minutes later here she comes. Takes our simple order and again we wait, and wait. 10 minutes later we are served. I don’t understand what would take so long. Every other venue at the square is very attentive. I would have spent $75-$100 on drinks but never got the chance. I’ll go back one more time but if it’s the same experience, never again.”

One of the few places around here in my experience that have their frying process down and everything comes out nice and crispy without being bogged down in excess oil like so many places seem to struggle with.

“We were just back at this little hidden gem since our first visit back in January 2026 for my birthday except this time we returned on Saturday, October 24 around 6:00 pm as we were celebrating one of our friend’s 65th birthday with a few other guest.
First of all, everyone loved the restaurant and plan to return in the near future. The birthday boy was definitely impressed with both the restaurant and the selection of food choices. He is a medical director at Wellstar Kennesaw, not far from Marietta Square, but he was not familiar with restaurant so we think this will become one of his go-to for lunch since he only 5-10 minutes from the restaurant.
On a lighter note, we had great service from our waitress, and we were impressed with the food portion for what we were paying. The only downside is they did not serve cocktails so we settled for the beer & wine choices. This is definitely one spot we will be frequenting.”

When you can’t decide between sweet or savory, the owner offers life advice… “life is short, eat dessert first.” I could not decide what sweet treat to get but the cashier recommended one of their cinnamon rolls as that is his favorite. They were also coming out fresh just past 8am, so how could I say no? There’s cranberry-something in the middle and it tastes as magical as Christmas morning is supposed to feel. When you walk in, it just feels like a homey, family atmosphere which progresses throughout the day as local people come in and are greeted with a loving familiarity. I believe the owner was going around greeting people personally and helping customers however he could, making me and others feel warm and welcome. That just makes the food even better, ya know? For savory, I went with a sausage, egg and cheese pie and the lamb curry pie. Chips on the side are crispy and delish. There’s malt on the table if that’s your style. Both came out very hot. The lamb curry was a perfect flavor like Australian shepherd’s pie. The dough/crust of both have a unique flavor: maybe a taste of Australia. I’ve never been but I imagine that’s what it is. Authentic! Yummy yummy yummy! I got an eclair to go for my dad that I know he’s going to love. Portions are great. Definitely a fair price…All that for $22. Leave a tip in the jar. “This was my first visit to African Soul Food, and I found the restaurant through Google. I ordered the Nigerian okra soup with assorted meats, jollof rice, red bean soup, and flatbread — everything was delicious and exceeded my expectations.
My server, Chris, was phenomenal. He was professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. Since it was my first time trying Nigerian dishes, he offered samples so I could choose confidently without wasting food, which I truly appreciated.
I’ll definitely be recommending this restaurant to my family and friends, and I’ll absolutely be returning. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.”

Our waitress Truselle asked if it was our first time there, which it was. She was very friendly and helpful. She was thanked and tipped for her hospitality (left a note on the bill). But when you start looking around - there do have many different items. And most importantly they have fresh baked bread and cakes, our famous salads “vinegret” and “shuba”, variety of “pirojki”, borsch and solyanka, golubcy, and more and more and more. I bought everything to try and didn’t regret a bit! Even though I make my own borsch and golubcy I liked theirs too. Shuba was amazing! Mushroom salad was something new and different, good a spread on bread or with boiled egg. Nice eggplant salad with their fresh bake bread - it was delicious! Napoleon was exactly how I make it at home. It was a good choice to get it there. Besides all of listed above they have a great selection of tea, salami, cheeses, candy and other sweets. Even though the store is kind of far away from me I’ll definitely will be back to spoil myself with those tasty things.”

Hands down THE coolest sports watching restaurant/bar in Georgia. Ten times better than Walk-on’s at The Battery. Kevin the bartender is very talented mixologist and just a cool guy to meet. “The decor of the restaurant is impressive to say the least - quite unusual and interesting and perfect for a seafood restaurant. The service was excellent, and our waiter was exceptionally polite and available for any assistance we needed. Most importantly, the food was top notch. When I go to pick up the pizza it is $29.63. When I questioned the price I was told they don't keep up with the prices on the web site. No other explanation just kind of looked away and went about their next order. The pizza was good but not up to their usual standards. So if you look at their web site be sure to ask the price when you order because it will most likely be higher and in this case quite a bit.”

“We have been coming here for over 20 years. "Everybody know your name" kind of place. Food is pub style and fresh. Specials on certain nights and we see the same faces over and over again. Two sided place, Bar area is our smokers side and it never leaks into the non smoking side. From servers , bar tenders , managers and food staff I call them friends.
