Today we went to dinner, the website says it closes at 9 pm on Mondays and we arrived at 8 pm and it was closed, it was a birthday party with guests and this is very frustrating. update the website
This was not as I anticipated. We arrived shortly after opening and were the only ones in the restaurant. The old oil smell was overwhelming upon entering, tables were not cleared, and our table was sticky. It was slightly off-putting to have our server stand so far away from our table, but I explained to my kids that it may be a cultural difference. The fried dumplings were crispy and flavorful. However, our experience went south when our sushi arrived. The smell of old fish was overwhelming. I tried one piece and knew it was not fresh. I am not one to cause a scene, so we immediately paid and left.I will not return or recommend this restaurant.

Was looking for a new place to try and saw Hamada had high ratings and showed to be open. Got out to where ot should be and almost could not find the place then it was closed till 5pm after the directory showed it as being open. Disappointed enough that we will not waste such time in the future.

I guess they really don't care about their costumers. We walked in place was empty 2 people walked passed us and told us they are open but never sat us down. We decided to take our money elsewhere...

Great food and prices - perfect lunch spot for a nice lunch! Always enjoy every time I visit and service is great!
My husband and I came here for the first time today, it was honestly a little heartbreaking to see how empty it was. Our server was super nice & attentive, the sushi chef even asked us if everything was good. Our assumption is they were the owners, and if so, they seem like great people. Our food was great, started with calamari & we each got a crazy roll (so good!) we opted to split a teriyaki chicken entree - the portions were very large so I’m not sure why some reviews before have said they’re not. The decor & layout of the place is just like a small restaurant in Japan so it has the authentic feel.

I eat lunch here about 2-3 times a week because it just can't be beat. Food is great. Service is even better. They know my order as soon as I walk in, I never wait longer than 10 minutes for a full meal of steak and chicken is brought to me. They ask if I want a refill constantly. The service just can't be beat.
Worst Japanese restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Service was terrible, I couldn’t even push through and eat the sushi because I was nervous of food poisoning in addition to old tasting rice, hot sake was luke warm, they left the TV on with WWE wrestling to clash with the music, so many things piling up that I had to leave and go somewhere else, which I have never done before. What a waste of time.
I cant see how is it possible this restaurant has 4.1 star rating, we came in for Sushi..ordered 4 rolls...all pretty much the same, no flavor, just the worst Sushi I ever had..wish I had taken a picture of it..dislike getting out of the comfort of my home to go for a good meal and get served by terrible customer service and food.

The place was literally dirty. We got dirty dishes and the rice was literally rice with soy sauce. The veggies were raw, food was horrible. Very small portions of bad food. The soup bowl was 1/4 of the way full.
Disappointing dinner and experience. We tried this place for the first time based on some of the reviews as I know some can be hit or miss. From this one and only visit I’m surprised it’s rated so high.- Rice was bland and lacking ingredients vs any other hibachi.- The cooking experience was almost nothing but someone just cooking. The only thing that was done was a fire at the start then nothing else. Even my 2 young kids were asking why we went there because they didn’t enjoy it at all.No interaction at all, and we were the ONLY people in the whole restaurant so it wasn’t like the chef was rushed. We also took our 78 year old father in law out for his first time ever to a hibachi dinner and it makes it worse that the cook and place was lacking bad. He didn’t enjoy it and doesn’t see why people would go to one of these places now.I am not one to leave many bad reviews but with just more enthusiasm and some effort to provide the dining experience that people expect at hibachi it would of been fine.
One of the dingiest places I've eaten. The chicken teriyaki was mediocre at best, and the sushi was what I would call "bad sushi." If you want sushi of a much better quality, go to the Kroger next door.
Okay, I REALLY tried to like this place since it's a small business, but it's just okay. The sushi didn't taste very fresh. I ordered Yaki soba, and I definitely did not get that. They gave me chicken lomein, which looks the same, but the sauce is totally different. I think they thought most people wouldn't know the difference, but I did! Now, the taste of the lomein wasn't bad, my 3 yr old enjoyed it, but still not Yaki Soba. They are a Japanese restaurant, not a Chinese restaurant. Anyway the customer service was good. The owners seem nice. I hope they become better and do well!
I love this place , I come here often and I usually order the same thing, which one look from the staff my order is already placed when I’m seated. Chef and his wife are super friendly and always fun to be around.
