Food was DELICIOUS! Fall off the bone Turkey wings!! Owner was THE nicest person!

Their food is so good and the atmosphere feels so much like a mom and pops shop. I always go for their Mac and cheese but their collards are too die for. I also love their fried fish options. I haven’t tried their chicken yet but it is just so so good, you’ve got a long time customer from me :)

I just had Family Soul for lunch, and all I can say is 6 stars! From the customer service to the food, everything was exceptional.

The food tasted like my mother and grandmother were back in the kitchen cooking—full of love, flavor, and memories. It was the kind of meal that takes you back home with every bite.

I even had to meet the owner/chef, and she was just as pleasant and wonderful as the food she serves. Her kindness and hospitality made the experience even more special.

When I say I’ll be back, I mean it. I already downloaded the restaurant’s hours and added them to my calendar so I can plan my next visit.

OMG! This restaurant is amazing! Elise greeted us as we entered. She was very cheerful, knowledgeable of the menu and extremely polite. I ordered the smothered pork chops with rice/gravy, Mac
& cheese and the most DELICIOUS cornbread dressing. My husband ordered the turkey wings with candied yams and Mac & cheese. EVERYTHING was served fresh, hot and savory.

The food is absolutely delicious. The turkey wings, fried catfish/pork chops are mouth watering. Even the sides are on point. And the service is friendly and attentive. I love this place! ❤️💯👍

Don’t waste your money like I did. I ordered 2 wing plates my son who loves chicken n fries couldn’t even eat it. The fries were not the ones pictured and tasted of old grease, the chicken was flavorless. I had collard greens n Mac and cheese n the collard greens tasted n smelled horrible n instantly went in the trash. Never will I return fool me one time shame on you, fool me twice shame on me $36 wasted

This was my first visit to the restaurant. The turkey wings, rice, and cornbread were okay. However, I was very disappointed with the cabbage. It appeared overcooked and old, and was heavily seasoned with complete seasoning, which made the dish overwhelmingly salty and masked any natural flavor. Unfortunately, I was unable to eat it and had to discard it.

I would recommend revisiting the preparation of the cabbage and focusing on a more traditional, balanced homemade flavor like grandma use to make back in the days.

The overall experience did not meet my expectations, and I am unlikely to return.

The staff were very courteous and attentive at first. We ordered the catfish and fried chicken dinner and a side of baked chicken, which was delicious and accompanied by collard greens and black-eyed peas. However, the fried chicken wings did not meet my expectations, as they were not fully cooked; the chicken remained red and underdone inside. In my opinion, due to the size of the chicken pieces, a slower and longer cooking process might have ensured thorough doneness. Despite raising this concern after the second instance, the staff did not return to address the issue directly.

I ordered Collard greens today 4/11 around 4:45... I swear the collard greens are either poisoned or someone accidentally put cleaning supplies into the pot! They are not edible and I started to call the police. And also the banana pudding is not authentic, it just banana flavored jello pudding

Passing through Lawrenceville, GA and came across this soul food restaurant. Get there.. the food was wonderful. If you hate wasting your money trying to find good soul food, this is the place with great food for your money.. Loved it! Catfish, Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes on point!

I came here last year and got the cornbread dressing, and it was pretty good, almost like my grandma’s, who just passed away in January.
So I wanted to get some more
This time, I tried calling several times to place my order and no one answered the phone, which was frustrating. When I finally ordered and paid over $17 for a large portion, it was not the same at all. The quality was very disappointing and no one in my family would eat it, so we had to throw it away.

I hate spending money on food that isn’t good. I hope they can improve both the food quality and customer service.
