Great pizza
Megan is amazing and Chef Jose is an artist with pies!!! We are recent transplants from NY AND STRUGGLED to find pizza like back home and the Sugarloaf Johnny’s comes closest!! From the service to the food, we live coming here and recommend this location above the other Johnny’s we’ve been to! Can’t wait to come back for trivia night!!! Be sure to ask for your craft beer 75/25 with cock n’ bull ginger beer…thank me later!!! Make sure you stop by on Wednesday; $1 off draft beers and $1 all slices!! Can’t beat that for a chill date night

I went to eat NY Style Pizza, what I got was a chicago style pizza. Too many ingredients in the pizza, couldn’t eat without a fork. The NY style pizza is NOT a heavy pizza. The pizza had so much cheese, is all I could taste.

Food quality went downhill. Dry pasta
Order spaghetti with meatballs, but it came with no meatballs.
They should just close down this chain.
Visited today on Thursday May 28th, between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The server was extremely inattentive and barely checked on our table throughout the meal. Service felt lazy, dismissive, and unprofessional, and we had to constantly try to get his attention for basic things.
What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that the treatment honestly felt racially motivated. I want to clarify that the server was African American, and the way we were treated compared to other customers in the restaurant did not sit right with me at all.
To make matters worse, I was charged for 2 drinks that should have been included with the lunch combo I ordered. It’s frustrating to be overcharged on top of already poor service. Overall, the experience left a very negative impression, and I hope management seriously looks into both the customer service and billing issues happening at this location.

The Dacula location is better IMO. Service here was relatively unattentive despite business being slow that night. My food was bland, but fresh.

The food was amazing! The staff was so helpful, and very friendly. Megan and Ryan were the best dynamic duo. Amazing food and great beer. Try the mediterranean salad!

Visited with my mother during lunch. We both ordered the Mediterranean salad which was amazing! It's really hard to find good customer service now and days, especially while dining in restaurants, but this particular experience was nothing short of amazing. Our server was Megan and we would definitely request her when visiting again!

This used to be my go to place for lunch. But not anymore! Especially when ordering take out. The food quality has declined as well as the service and wait times. Very disappointed.

I always have great food, great service and great times when im at johnnies on sugarloaf
I had a really disappointing experience at this Johnny’s location.
I used to work at a Johnny’s in Athens for two years, exclusively in the kitchen, so I’m very familiar with the difference between the wing sauces. Mild, medium, and hot are not the same sauce. Mild is its own brighter orange buffalo sauce, while hot is a darker red and has a slightly smoky smell. Medium is made by cutting the hot sauce with margarine.
I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza with mild sauce because my wife is sensitive to spicy foods. When I picked it up, I immediately noticed the sauce looked dark red instead of the brighter orange mild sauce I expected, and it also had that slight smoky smell. I asked the person at the counter to check with the kitchen, and after checking, she told me it was mild, so I took them at their word and brought it home.
Once we tried it, it was obvious it was not mild. I have a decent spice tolerance and could tell right away, and it was far too hot for my wife. Luckily, we had ordered half the pizza as cheese and bacon, otherwise the whole order would have been a waste.
I called the store to let them know the pizza had the wrong sauce. To be fair, the person who answered the phone did apologize, and I appreciate that. But the store still insisted that the pizza was made with mild sauce and gave an explanation about the sauce “settling” if it is not shaken enough, which did not line up with my experience working in the kitchen at Johnny’s. I had to specifically ask for some kind of compensation, and only then did they say they could do $2 off next time.
What bothered me most was not just the wrong sauce, but how it was handled. Mistakes happen. But when a customer raises a legitimate issue, the right response is to take it seriously and make it right, not repeatedly insist the order was correct and then only offer $2 off after being pressed.
We’ve gone to this location often, which made this especially frustrating. Because of how this was handled, we won’t be back.
