I purchased 6 pasteles. I haven't had any in more than 12 years. I was glad to get some PR food.
But, something was missing. Whatever was missing from the taste would have received 5 stars.
There was also a communication problem, the one person staff didn't speak any English.
I had to show her pictures from their menu website.

Parking: Parking was not a problem.

Change of name and administration.
They charged me too much for the $41 lunch and I didn't buy a soda. High prices and bad service, I'm sorry, but they must improve if they want to continue. Change of management they still leave the coqui vip restaurant sign now it is called Alcapurias Spot. I have never experienced an exaggerated price in this place. Plus now it's a day care. It is not a place to eat inside only take away you can eat inside only the atmosphere during the day is not pleasant. I didn't like the service. Very high price. The price was a scam. They scammed me...... I didn't get home safely and the stench of that food killed whoever the breast was, so no... There's no one to put their teeth into it...

Just bad bad bad. I had to pull all the Silverskin off of my steak just to attempt to eat it. Tostones were thick and chewy, the rice was bland and I had to drown everything in the mystery sauce that was on the table. How do you cut overcooked steak with silverskin with a plastic fork and knife? Way over priced and such a waste of time and money.

Not worth the price or time.
Went to this place with family yesterday. First the place looked dirty, is super small, and super overpriced. Also please if you do go, make sure to ask them for a receipt because they overcharged me and changed the prices from the ones in the menu. Never going back.

My husband and I stopped at this place because he’d been craving mofongo since we visited Puerto Rico. This was the SLOWEST restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. Close to an hour for two to-go meals. Then when we finally received our food, it was bland and tasteless. Even the Spanish rice had no taste, which is cannot understand. It’s like they forgot to add seasoning to anything. A total waste of $40. I’m not sure what every 5 star reviewer had, but the food I had is a hard pass. I would not recommend this restaurant, and I for sure wouldn’t visit or eat here ever again. Smh

The frituras were good! Their steak & mofongo was good but I believe needs more of criollo taste. Overall the food was good! The young lady who attends is awesome?

I ordered white rice , beans and beefsteak encebollao with some tostones. The beefsteak went from the plate to the garbage in the same restaurant. It was awful salty and the meat smelled horrible.I had to tell the waitress how horrible it taste and smelled. They offered a puerto Rican desert which I tasted and unfortunately it was so disgusting. And this is an insult for the puerto Rican food I ordered pastels but they did not know what's thatsNot even the cook have an idea of the food and taste. Won't recommend it.
