Chico and Change has always been my absolute favorite casual dining restaurant, and I’m so happy to say that the new owners have done an incredible job keeping the spirit of the place alive. They’ve stayed true to the original recipes that made this spot such a local gem — everything tastes just as amazing as ever.
On top of that, the new team couldn’t be more welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and want everyone to feel at home. It’s rare to find a place that balances great food, great people, and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere so perfectly.

That fried rice has enough oil to attend a diddy party, their bulgogi is NOT bulgogi, spicy chicken is not spicy.
Will not come back nor recommend

My wife and I love visiting Chico & Chang! Their food is absolutely delicious and their milk Boba teas are excellent! We highly recommend trying the taro milk boba tea. We look forward to coming back and enjoying Chico & Chang.

The food was meh...the bulgogi pasta was dry something definitely to take home and build upon to become better. I was expecting more sauce. The pot stickers are pot stickers...nothing to die for.

My husband does not particularly care for tofu. I implored him to accompany me to this establishment and sample their crispy tofu stir-fry. Although he expressed some reservations on the way, we decided to share a plate (just in case he disliked it). I am pleased to report that he thoroughly enjoyed it and consumed more than half! He even mentioned he should have ordered his own portion. This restaurant is truly wonderful, offering a wide variety of options, and it is not exclusively vegetarian.

Food was delicious. Very clean place. Don't let the surrounding areas dissuade you from eating there.

Very large portion size for the bowls that we’d ordered. I’m vegetarian but I had company who had non vegetarian meals which they liked. We were recommended to have the mango boba drink. It was decent. Not plenty of vegetarian options but it’s better than nothing 🤷🏽♀️

Chico and Chang – A Decline in Quality Since New Ownership
Chico and Chang used to be one of our go-to spots. We were regulars, and the food always tasted fresh, flavorful, and consistent. Unfortunately, ever since the original owners left, things have changed, and not for the better.
One of the biggest issues is the oil they use. The fries taste like they’ve been cooked in old, overused oil, and that stale flavor carries over into everything else. It’s as if they’re cooking everything in the same oil over and over again, and it really ruins what used to be great flavor. Instead of the fresh, bold taste we used to love, all we can taste now is the oil.
It’s disappointing to see such a sharp decline in quality from a place that once had so much potential. We used to eat here all the time, but sadly, the taste just isn’t the same anymore.

Many items on the menu are vegetarian and clearly state make it Vegan Style. I had the Firecracker Tofu which had a nice medium spice level. If actually biting into the chilies in the dish most were mild but with one or two of them being surprisingly spicy (which is a Hallmark of several varieties of chilies). I also had the Veggie Noodles Vegan Style and it was a delightful udon noodles with a lot of veggies particularly carrots matchsticks. They have several noodles based dishes with different varieties of noodles so two members of my party thought they ordered the same non vegan pasta dish but they were different. We will definitely stop again the next time we are on I75 in Macon.
I got the tofu kimchi fried rice burrito with a diet Coke. The food hit the spot but it was not mind blowing. Updated from previous review on 2024-12-21
