Not great, not bad. I ordered the hot & spicy bowl. It was hot (temperature wise) but not spicy at all. I love spicy food & my order was a clear miss.Would I return? Maybe but I would either insist on way more spice or order something safe, like teriyaki chicken.
This used to be my favorite place. The staff is still amazing but it seems like the food is usually short. They didn't have most of the ingredients I usually put in my bowl. There's also no desserts. It seems like they're trying to go more for the pre made to go bowls instead.
I ordered a $10 chicken bowl on a walk in basis for take out. The taste was wonderful. However, the wait was a bit long; and then, I was still hungry.I shall return, but I will get a bigger bowl. I recomend at least a medium bowl, which is about $4 or $5 more. The atmosphere was wonderful; but, it was around 4:15 p.m., and I was tired. So, perhaps the wait was not as bad as it felt.
This was our first time visiting, wasn’t sure where to go to place our order. We sat and looked around thinking are they about to close or what. Took about eight minutes for someone to give us a menu. I ordered a create your own bowl, and was unsure if we go over and do it ourselves and where to put it when we’re done. Then my order was done and I had no idea there was no bell or person telling me so. Price for the portion isn’t good but the food was. No greet in No greeting going out. Service 3/5
We went on a Saturday afternoon. I did the create your own, and I was very happy with how fresh the veggies were and how helpful everyone was there. My cousin lived her bowl as well, I think it was the Fire bowl. I will be back within the week. I loved it! Oh and the hummus...Yummus!!
They have Cauliflower Rice, and they cook it perfectly! They could add more seasoning to it, but I did order my steak without A1, and that changed the seasoning of the dish. It was good. The steak was a bit tough but did not taste old and was very good! Miller, the bartender, was excellent!
Tried here for lunch for the first time. We created our own bowls and had fun doing it. The staff was friendly and helped us with suggestions on what to get or add on to our bowls. Our server was friendly. Definitely will be back.
Upon arrival, I was impressed by the menu options: spicy, vegetarian and gluten free options, create your own bowls, small, medium, and large size. Customize your drink, value bowls. Genghis Rewards and earn free bowls. Here's the let down. Sauces are not spicy if you like heat. The Chefs bowl is fill with chunks of potatoes. The potatoes are advertised as smashed but they are not. I'm not a fan of potatoes in Asian food. Next, the Supreme dish was served without carrots, green onions, and red pepper. The primary reason I ordered the meal was for all the veggies. Now the HIGH, my Hostess/Waitress/Server was Alysia, she was fantastic. I had recently had my eyes dilated and she helped me navigate the menu. Thank you Alysia for being attentive, helpful and friendly while wearing multiple hats. I recommend this restaurant but customers should expect consistency on menu items.
Always enjoy the food here although the style has changed a little. Still can make your own bowl but that option is a bit more expensive. Which is disappointing. That being said always a go to stop when passing through Macon.
David took good care of us on our first visit. The food was hot and delicious. And my drink was good too

First time with several long time patrons. They love it and I will be back. Service was good and the cooks manning the grill were fun to watch. I got the Jambalaya which is a complete plate. Most selected a small bowl and selected the vegetables and meats they wanted grilled. Hundreds of options to fit any taste. A fun meal with fun people!
Very disappointed with this place tonight. Teens chatting instead of checking on tables. We had to remind them that we were even there, and we weren't the only ones. They also got half of our orders wrong to start with because they didn't listen. Tables were nasty and the waitresses were too busy flirting with their coworkers and customers to do their jobs. Never got checked on one time to ask how we were doing. I'm very forgiving of service, I understand if you're short staffed and busy, but this wasn't the case. There were plenty of staff, but they were not doing their jobs. They were doing the bare minimum to collect a paycheck and that's it. This place used to be good and I would recommend it to everyone. Tonight it was a joke. Food was okay, but even that was lacking.
We heard soo many good things about Genghis in other states we just had to try one. We traveled all the way from Atlanta to eat at Genghis Macon location. Our 1st impression was the urge to turn around & walk back out after we got there. But since we drove soo far, we braced ourselves. 1) I can deal with a little dirt - A messy table or two. But the place is just down right Grungy-nasty. Sweeping wont help - it needs a Deep cleaning & better lighting. 2) There was at least 7 employees on the floor doing nothing but talking to each other. What about assisting the Customers or checking on the tables? 3) The food bar was looking real suspect with al lot of empty pans & NO employees wiping it down or restocking it. A few of the raw meats pans were empty but full of raw juice/blood. IT was NOT pretty & customers do NOT want to see that. The ONLY saving grace there was the chef who cooked the food. Our meal consisted of 2 medium bowls & an appetizer & 2 waters totaling $50! All i can say is if you run this place, take pride in it - or close it permanently.
An understaffed, slow service, rude incompetent management, high prices, lots of excuses, false advertising, missing food and disappointment is all I got here. They lost an entire meal, not only at my table but one for he family beside us as well. The manager was rude and we were told he didn't have time to come see us, we had to go to him at the grill. The host was the only server. They had an old sign advertising 1.99 kids meals after 4pm on Tuesday and they didn't want to honor it because "it was very old and mgmt hasn't taken it down yet". Part of my order wasn't in my bowl. I loved GG but doubt I'll ever go back, especially since the prices have almost doubled in he last couple of years. $24.99 for a large bowl?
We were traveling through Macon and stopped here because we love Genghis Grill and the most local one to us closed and this one is a few hours away. The prices have increased immensely, actually a ridiculous amount. We toughed that out because we love the food and it was as a vacation so we splurged. I asked for rice and noodles and only got fried rice. It was sticky and mushy and not rally any good at all. One of our party made a custom bowl and got the wrong bowl after finally waiting forever to get the bowl, it had shrimp and lots of veggies which they do not eat any of. The server (who was also hosting and definitely overwhelmed by himself) said he was sorry and took it away and then came to apologize and asked her to make another bowl. We were all almost finished at this point and she declined and went next door to Subway. The table next to us had the same issue with their bowl disappearing and that entire party was finished before the missing bowl was finally remade and fired. The server kept blaming the new staff in the kitchen. Then when our check came one of the children's bowl was $7.99, The sign on the front window said kids eat for $1.99 after 4pm on Tuesdays. IT was after 4pm on a Tuesday and they said that is a really old poster and it is not correct anymore and that they had asked the manager to take it down but it never happened. We asked for the manager to discuss all of these issues and were told he would be out soon. Then they said he was too busy to come out. We insisted and we went to the grill area where he was and told him the issues. He had a bad attitude and was snippy but agreed to honor the kids price and remove the missing bowl but he acted like a kid who didn't get his way. He tossed things around and was just put out by the situation. At $25 per large bowl and false advertising, hosts serving, incompetency, hissy fits by management because they had to do their job and just lame excuses all around, I doubt that i will return, especially to this location. Actually not at all based on the ridiculous price increases in the last year or two.
