Nu-Way is… fine for what it is. The loaded dogs are pretty greasy, chili has an interesting nutmeggy flavor and overall they are okay at best. Chili fries swimming in orange oil. But hey, the place is an institution and is keeping the community fed on very affordable food, however mid it may be. For the three of us it was less than 30 bucks and we left full.
As far as service goes, we showed up at 8p, so somewhat close to closing time, and the ladies were pleasant. Had no issues and got everything we ordered.

On 7/5/2025 ordered a small malt and large cup of ice. Order AC2PWM24A4EW . granddaughter went to eat ice and it had brown remnants of trash in it. It looked like someone had scrapped the side of where ice is dispensed. Can you imagine this is what is going in your drinks. I contacted the supervisor on duty and told her about it and she yelled at the employees and said I told you about scraping the side of ice. Wasted money and time. Already home or I would have gone back but I do not live on that side of town. Horrible.

I was raised on Nu-Ways living in Macon most of my life. I miss them so much. Just moved too far away. Next time in Macon we will definitely stop and get a sack of Nu-Ways. Best hotdog in America. Just my humble opinion. ❤️

Every time I go through the drive-thru at the Nu-Way on Zebulon Road in Macon, I leave completely satisfied—no matter how long the line is. The ladies up front are always working hard, moving with a rhythm that keeps things efficient without ever sacrificing kindness. They greet you with genuine warmth, get your order right, and never make you feel rushed or overlooked.
The cook in the back deserves serious praise, too. The food is always hot, fresh, and prepared with care. Whether it’s a classic hot dog or something else on the menu, you can tell they take pride in what they’re doing.
Even on the busiest days, the whole team runs like a well-oiled machine. It's not just fast food—it's good food served by great people who clearly care about their work. This Nu-Way has definitely earned its spot in my regular routine.
Unfortunately after writing this review and inspecting my bag, my order was wrong. Ordered chili cheese hot dog and hamburger no onions, both the same and very clear instructions.
Received slaw dog and chili cheese burger with onions, I hate it because I want to give them praise for what they endure everyday, but yeah.
