This was my first time eating at Texas Border Grill. My husband and I ate dinner here with family and friends yesterday and the food was subpar. I ordered the bourbon marinated salmon, rice pilaf and steamed broccoli. The rice pilaf had no flavor, was undercooked and served at room temperature. The broccoli was steamed well, but had no marinade. The salmon was the only part of my meal that tasted decent and it was barely seasoned!
My husband got the steak burger which he said was okay, but not great. He also ordered the sweet potato fries which were passable. My husband and one other person got a wings appetizer, but my husband was given six wings while the other person was given eight. This made no sense and we had to bring it up to our waiter to get two more. There should be a set amount of wings you receive as an appetizer. They really need to work on their menu in regards to that and talk to the chef so they’re all on the same page.
It took a while for us to receive our check and I didn’t appreciate the 3% charge if you were using a credit or debit card to pay for your meal. People don’t carry cash all the time. All in all, my experience here was dreadful and I will never visit this restaurant again or recommend it to anyone.

2nd review 6/2024: Stopped in for a bite with my son, service was good, friendly and checked on us just the right amount. Took one star off bc we didn't get bread plates with our bread had to eat it on napkins on the table top. My son got grilled shrimp and mashed potatoes. He loved the shrimp but the potatoes had zero, salt/pepper, nor butter in them. Luckily those items were on the table. I got a burger and fries, for $11 I would have expected a better bun than a cheap sesame seed bun. A nice kaiser roll or fancy burger bun would have been better and elevated the meal. The fries were ok, maybe over-seasoned and a little greasy or limp, not very crisp. I did like the fresh tomatoes and pickles they provided. Sweet tea was spot on, not too sweet. We really like this little neighborhood steak house, too bad the prices of steaks have gone up so much. $35 for a ribeye is too much for my wallet. I'll have to buy and cook my own for much less. They have now added a 3% fee for debit/credit card use like the gas stations do. Use to be that this was just a cost of doing business... One last thing, personal preference, but in the south the only ketchup brand is Heinz. Quit trying to save pennies on no name ketchup. It doesn't taste the same as Heinz.
Nice dining experience with a decent menu selection and friendly staff, I would eat here again.

This place is a classic staple in this area. Not sure how they've managed to survive over the years, but sure glad they have. As usual, our food, service and manager involvement (greeted us when our server was busy and we needed drinks refreshed) were great! We highly recommend you give this place a try if you haven't already!

I had a very good dining experience here. My wife and I plus four others stopped by after a soccer game on a Thursday night. Having never eaten here we weren't sure what to expect but were hopeful.What we found was a great meal; the youths in our party ordered hamburgers. No biggie right, until they took a bite and all stopped and said dad this is a good hamburger. I tried a bite and yes they were delicious. Wait Staff said they make their own burgers in house. Freshly grinding the meats for it, hand patting them out, seasoning them well, and cooking them to perfection. The black and blue burger was the consensus best of the 3 different ones that we ordered.On to the steaks my wife and I had two different cuts and both looked good in presentation and tasted even better upon consumption.We were very pleased with our dining experience and if we are back down in the area we will definitely stop here for a meal.
