Despite the short notice, Kristi, the owner, graciously accepted my last-minute order. To my delight, the food turned out to be fantastic! (Along with quite a few other well-known, lesser talents). That alone is enough for any city to claim. And then there is The Bears Den, a place with food so good it shines. The menu varies daily. Which makes two overwhelmingly wonderful reasons to go to Macon.

I ordered the 4 vegetable plate today and paid for a 4 vegetable plate. When I get home, I only have 3 vegetables on the plate. I am not happy right now. The people fixing plates really need pay attention and make sure they are fixing what was ordered. And then the food was so so. If I ever go back there again, I will make sure I check my plate before leaving because this is ridiculous.

This place really lives up to the 5-star reviews. The food was beyond delicious, especially the vegetables. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The entire place was very clean, including the restroom. Go bear's den, you and your staff have raised the bar on southern cooking, cleanliness, and hospitality. If you're ever in Bibb County, don't forget to visit the Bears Den. Its country cooking is really worth talking about.
