The Best Pizza in GA. We took a road trip to North Carolina recently and took the long way home in order to bypass ATL traffic. On our return trip, we made a detour in order to visit Madison, GA which may be one of the friendliest little towns in GA, or the USA for that matter. It's a beautiful little town full of old . It reminds me of Senoia, GA before it was ruined by ATL sprawl-big city ugliness... all paid for by big money, but that is a different story. We are talking about the best pizza in GA with allowance for best pizza being subjective... my and my wife's taste buds going back over quite a few years now. I first saw the town and sampled Amici's margherita pizza and salad quite a few years ago on a motorcycle ride with friends. It was a memorable lunch at Amici's. I have judged every new pizza restaurant and home-made margherita pizza against that pizza ever since then. The memory of that day still hold, the pizza was absolutely delicious and their new Caesar salad was great too! It is definitely worth a trip to Madison to see the beautiful little town's homes and shops and to sample the best pizza in GA. Give it a try sometime. It's an excellent day trip getaway. Nestled just an hour east of Atlanta, Madison is a Southern gem where oak-lined streets and antebellum architecture whisper stories of grace and grit. It’s a town that feels like a living postcard—walkable, welcoming, and rich with character. And right in the heart of it all is Amici. Before it became Madison’s living room in the beautifully restored livery stable on West Washington Street, Amici started a few blocks away in a humble storefront on South Main - most likely a dry goods store or something similar. That original, cozy little spot served up their legendary pizza, cold brews, and community vibes that made it a local favorite from day one. Today, Amici’s new home (old livery stable) blends rustic charm with modern comforts—exposed brick, live music, and the same signature pies that earned it the title of “best pizza in Georgia.” Whether you remember the old green awning or you’re soaking in the new patio scene, Amici is still serving what Madison does best: good food, good people, and a whole lot of heart. And on our walk to the new place after parking near downtown, every single person we met was smiling, saying hi and just being the most welcoming folks you could ever meet. Sort of like a GA Mayberry, USA. While researching the place on the internet, I found they have 12 locations in total. I am told each spot carries the same spirit: New York-style pizza, wings, pasta, cold beer, and live music, all served with a side of Southern hospitality. Some locations even have event rooms or patios for live performances and community gatherings.

Slow service to start then it got better.

Service was adequate, food and ambiance was good. Drink special ran out immediately and they refused to substitute for same price; bait and switch in my opinion. They left the special drink sign up long after special was sold out. Not sure I would go back though wings were very good.

The food is good for the price. Service is very attentive... well trained! Service is quick for a place so large, which is good since the seating is not meant to invite a long stay.

Very Disappointed with the extra charges they applied to our bill. At least tell the customer first before charging extra for dressing. I wasn't going to post this because I sent the manager an email in hopes he would handle this, but after 2 emails, I had no reply, so I am posting this so ever one that comes here will know in advance. This is the exact email that I sent the manager (twice) ---------------------------- We come to Madison often and always enjoy coming to your place, but we were there yesterday and we were very upset about our bill. Our son lives in Athens GA and we met him at your place for lunch. I didn't notice it at first but later we looked at the bill and we were charged an extra $1.00 each for our salad dressings. At least when asking for extra dressings your staff should say something like, just to let you know, it's $1.00 more for extra dressing. Then the customer can decide or not if they want to pay this. I've seen this upcharge in the past at other places, but never $1.00 and we're always told about the charge beforehand. Not really happy with AMICI right now... ----------------------------------- I hope everyone agrees that any additional charges on the bill should be stated beforehand. Lots of great places in Madison GA to choose from, so not sure why I didn't get a response.

It took over an hour to get the appetizers, then another 30 minutes to get our food! At that time we were told they were out of hamburgers! We were there 2 1/2 hours!

We stopped at Amici’s on our way home from a long trip. Once we were finally seated and placed our orders from the menu, it took 40 minutes to receive our sandwiches. Talk about slow service. We won’t be back.

The pizza was excellent. Great crust, sauce, and cheese. Impressive brick interior. Service was very good and friendly for our party of 23 visiting from out of town.

Visited last night for a date night with my wife. We are locals and have been here many times. We where seated at a high top table near the bar(which we requested). After that everything went down hill. Sat for 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order, got our drinks sat for another 15 before our waitress came back to take our order. This was at 4:30 in the afternoon and she only had 2 customer tables to take care of and apparently one employee of duty table to care for. Once our salads arrived we noticed we had no silverware, It took forever to get our server's attention just to get a fork. Once our dinner arrived it got worse. My wife had the spaghetti and I had the fettuccini with fried chicken. Both our meals tasted like food from the freezer section at the grocery store. Dry with no flavor. We have ordered these meals in the past and they where way better. What was the worse thing of all was the table with 4 employees off duty drinking, and working employees corraling around them talking instead of working. This was such an unpleasant visit. It could've been a lot better I think
