A truly unique, and enjoyable experience! I would definitely give yourself about 2 to 3 1/2 hours for a dinner here, it was a nice change of pace from the rushed dinners at most restaurants. As lifelong foodies from the Pacific Northwest, my wife and I moved to Georgia 11 years ago. Despite our best efforts, finding good food in the South had been a challenge. We tried every restaurant within 50 miles of our home, only to be disappointed time and again. Eventually, we resigned ourselves to staying home, investing in cooking utensils and ingredients to create our own culinary experiences.
Each year for our anniversary, we give a new restaurant a try, usually with low expectations. But this year, The Dining Room in Madison broke our losing streak in the best way possible!
From the moment we walked in, the staff ensured we had a wonderful experience. The decor set the stage for an enjoyable night out, and the chef absolutely KILLED IT! The food was phenomenal; there are words to describe how perfect everything was, but they just don't seem to do it justice.
Every dish was a revelation, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The attention to detail and passion in the kitchen truly shone through. We left The Dining Room with full hearts and even fuller stomachs, excited to come back and explore more of their amazing creations.

Friends invited us to join them at The Dining room for a special dinner, and it was wonderful ! I didn’t know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by the variety in choices. I especially enjoyed the squash blossom appetizer and the red snapper, perfectly prepared. Lovely atmosphere - we’re planning to go back !

Our dinner here was one of the most delicious I have ever had. The service was everything one could wish for - relaxed and friendly yet perfectly attentive. The restaurant has two prix fixe options (four and three course options) but one can order a la carte, and our group of four decided to do that. In addition to the three courses we ordered, we were also brought an amuse bouche and then three small lovely sweet treats at the end of the meal (we had not ordered a dessert course). I highly recommend this restaurant!

What a delightful experience we had from start to finish! The room is lovely, and the seating exceptionally comfy! Our party of 4 ordered a variety of items and loved all of them. Service was beautifully coordinated and timed. We were thrilled with the bottle of wine we shared, which was one recommended for the chef’s menu.

And the prix-fixe menu featured a thoughtful progression of beautifully presented and delicious dishes. Pictured are the tea-smoked duck breast with chestnuts and shiitakes and shrimp toast.The wine pairing was reasonably priced, and we wound up buying a bottle of one of the pours the next day at the nearby market. Any time we're between Madison and Athens, we'll be making another stop here.

The wine list is creative, and the pairings are so appropriate. The short ribs appetizer and the roasted halibut entree were delicious and perfectly prepared. The duck breast was superb. And the chocolate hazelnut pastry was a wonderful conclusion.
