Some of if not the best BBQ around. Brisket was tender and flavorful.

Pork and chicken were moist though, no complaints there. No ribs likely means no return visit though.

We found ourselves out running errands near Rutledge about lunch time. We are not too familiar with the area as we live on the other side of social circle. We debated going to Monroe to a bbq place we were familiar with or venture to Madison. We decided to try Madison. We ordered the three meat combo with pork, chicken and brisket. We also chose double green beans. We were surprised to learn when we got the meal that the chicken was pulled off the bones. The amount in the box didn't look like enough for us to split. The cashier let me know that there was 4 ounces of each meat. After some discussion we decided to order a brisket sandwich without a bun for an additional 4 ounces of meat. Upon returning home my husband and I divided the food and weighed each portion because we are on a weight loss journey and we weigh all of our food. We determined that each portion of meat except the brisket in the combo box had actually been shorted. But the second sandwich portion was 3.6 ounces so when we divided both it was less than 4 ounces for each. The chicken was 1/2 ounce short. The pork under almost as much. Now on to the food itself. Although I really wanted chicken on the bone, the pulled chicken was pretty good. It was tender and had good flavor- not as good as chicken smoked on the bone- but good. The pork was surprisingly dry. It's perplexing because of the three meats we chose it's the easiest to smoke... but it was dry. Now- the brisket.... Brisket is arguably the most difficult to smoke. This one was great. It was tender and juicy. It wasn't overly fatty but had enough fat to keep it tender. It was some of the best brisket we've had in Georgia. The green beans were good. Very solid southern green beans. Overall- three out of 5 is fair. Had we not been shorted on the meat we would score it a 4. Would we return? If we were in the area- yes. I'd order brisket would I drive from home to Madison instead of Monroe? No.

Neat little bbq joint with the train car being attached to the building. Spacious and clean dining area with great service, friendly lady at the front counter greeting customers and taking their orders. I ordered the 3 meat platter(brisket, pulled pork & chopped chicken) with smoked Mac & Cheese for the side, Diet Coke and Nutter Butter banana pudding. The chopped chicken was my favorite meat followed by the brisket and the pulled pork was my least favorite, the brisket and pulled pork was good just not as moist as like. They have 3 different sauces available on the table to choose from and all had a pleasant taste. The Mac & Cheese was smoked I believe and was a great choice for my side. The banana pudding was made with crushed up nutter butter bars, the banana pudding was good just not sure about the nutter butter part(sounded good and got my attention on the menu) it would have been good with or without it. The price may have been a little on the high side I'll let you decide, total price with tip was $31 and change. I would go back if I was in the area again, it's worth a second trip.

Went to the new location in Covington Georgia. It's been open a week. I love barbecue and couldn't wait to taste it. I ordered a two meat plate. It had pork and brisket and my side was green beans. When it was brought out to me I was astonished what $20 got me! I thought served a kids meal or an appetizer. It was the smallest portions I've ever had for $20. Think twice before you spend your money there.

Had the Brisket plate. 2 modest slices and 1 piece of bread. So disappointed because the meat is great, but price vs portion is bad. Portion was way to small. Daughter had BBQ loaded fries. Fries were horrible.

Portions are very small for the price. All meat is pulled, but the menu doesn't say. Sides are served in small cardboard containers, including the baked beans and Brunswick stew. Meat was served lukewarm with one slice of untoasted white bread to the side. Baked beans tasted like Van Camps. We made a comment about the quality of the food to one of the workers who rudely replied with "I just work here" and "if you have a problem, email the owner".
