The food is amazing and the woman that rang me up was extremely nice and helpful over the phone. Will absolutely be coming back.

Food is amazing! Drinks are delicious! Feels like you have come to visit your auntie and she decided to feed you (in the best way)! It's a nice place but not super fancy - very low key. Great for a chill evening with amazing food and energy.

The food is great, well seasoned, and large portions! The jollof rice and samosas are some of my favorites!

The food was phenomenal! Service was a little slow due to it only being one waitress at that moment , BUT the food made up for everything. The margarita was great as well . Some of the best goat pepper soup i ever

I never expected this place to be so nice when I walked in! It was a lot bigger than I expected. The lady behind the bar was so warm and welcoming and I honestly just came in to see what they had out of curiosity and ended up spending like $70 just because of her (did not plan on spending that at all). She was so enthusiastic and felt like talking to a good friend so I couldn’t walk out LOL! However, I’m glad I didn’t because the food was just as amazing. She called me by name severaltimes while I waited as she made polite conversation and offered me a ginger shot. I definitely recommend this spot if you are in the mood for some good African soul food!

We learned about The African Soul Food Restaurant after they catered lunch for our kid's school Black History Month Celebration. Let me start by saying we are a multigenerational Colombian family. We have grandmas who won't eat anything spicy or that deviates from the Colombian standard, and equally selective children :) My husband and I are the adventurous ones, in the hopes of exposing our kids to the wonderful flavors of the world!Overall, our experience in The African Soul Food Restaurant was a hit for our family! The space is very nice, with great service, and delicious quality food. The place from the outside is very unassuming, and parking was a bit difficult. However, once inside it was spacious, clean, and elegant. The music and decor made me feel somewhere else, definitely not in Marietta. There were a few other families, and some people at the bar, definitely slow for a Friday evening.Service was great, maybe the owner? She took the time to explain the menu and brainstorm with us about what would suit our various family members. We started with the beef samosas, which had a kick but even my 2-year-old enjoyed them! Had some mango lassi as well. For our main meal, we ordered three dishes for 3 adults and 2 kids, and that was enough for all of us. I think it did take a bit to be brought to us, but it was hot and fresh, so it was worth it. We ordered the beef stew (not spicy), grilled chicken with veggies (not spicy), mbuzi wet fry ( made with fried goat meat, and was spicy). For the sides, we ordered ugali (mashed white cornflower), sukuma (sauteed kale and spinach), white rice with veggies, pilau rice (East African spiced rice), and fries (boring, but just in case the kids would not eat anything else-- they are at that age where the only thing they like to eat is pasta and chicken nuggets). The beef stew and grilled chicken were a great non-spicy choice for the grandma and the kids. The meats were tender, juicy, and very flavorful in different ways. The mbuzi wet fry was the BOMB, the flavors were amazing and spicy, and while that meant the kids and the grandma stayed away from it, my husband and I did not mind :)We will be back to try other dishes and highly recommend this restaurant for those of you who want to try some yummy food.

Best Kenyan food away from home. The servings are generous for the price. The presentation was beautiful. The food was chef kiss. We had the mbuzi wet fry and the thiebou yapp (chebu yap) along with chapati and sukuma as sides. We washed the meal down with mango lassi and homemade ginger drink. It was definitely food coma worthy

The food here is insanely good! My go-to is the lamb and plantain, but honestly, everything on the menu is delicious. Mrs. Carol and the crew are always super sweet. The place looks amazing, and right now, it's chill, but I bet there'll be a line out the door soon – mark my words!
