I picked up lunch from this bakery, great service, amazing food, and the sourdough was fresh. Prices were reasonable and the place was clean and welcoming.

Fantastic family owned bakery! Best Muffalettas in Atlanta!

Love, love, love this place! My son turned me on to their ham & cheese croissants 🄐, I introduced them to my old man then he got me on their ham and cheese with jalapeƱo pretzels 🄨 lol ! Nothing I’ve had here disappoints!

What a great find while in town for a convention. Bought several things in the store, as well as several pastries and a schnitzel sandwich - yummy!! A must try, the locals seem to love this place, these was always a line at the counter!!

As an Austrian living in Atlanta for the past 18 years, homesickness hits me like a rogue schnitzel—especially after a trip back home or a visit from family. But then I found Bernhard’s, and suddenly the world felt a little less cruel and a lot more delicious.

This place is pure joy. A glorious little slice of Germany and Austria hidden in the South, with everything from hearty soups and sausages to freshly baked bread and pastries that taste like they came straight out of Oma’s kitchen. Honestly, if my therapist ever goes on vacation, I’ll just come here instead. Nothing says ā€œemotional healingā€ like biting into a perfectly flaky Topfengolatsche.

The only downside? No place to sit. No cozy corner, no sunny outdoor table, not even a bench to clutch my Bratwurst sandwich in peace. Just give me a couple of high tables outside, Bernhard—something to lean on like we do at the Stehimbiss back home, while debating which pastry to devour next.

I’ll definitely be back (probably embarrassingly often), especially in hopes of scoring those elusive German pretzel sticks that were sadly sold out during my last visit. Until then, danke for bringing a little piece of home to Atlanta—and for helping me power through homesick days, one KƤsekuchen at a time.

We had our son’s graduation cake from Bernhard’s Bakery. They are by far the best in town. You never feel like you are having heavy dessert! It was so light and so delicious!!! We had the coconut mango cake but Bernhard was great to design it according to our wish and the result was great for our graduation party!

Excellent bakery. Their apple strudel is especially good and tastes just like strudel from Austria. The blueberry cheese pastry was also delicious and looked very nice as well.

This is a great place with amazing food and though this place is quite small, it’s an amazing atmosphere. They have plenty of choices to choose from such as candy or other German foods. I love getting the candy because it’s fun to see how they do candy at their country rather than us. Me and my aunt went and tried to speak German to the lady’s at the front, and despite the accent, she didn’t speak back; not a very good place to practice using German in real life rather in Duolingo. I don’t see as to why everyone is saying the food isn’t fresh; we got croissants and a small vanilla cake and it tasted just fine. Delicious, I’m coming back again for sure!

We found this place not long ago and loved it! What we normally get there are some pastries, sourdough, German sausages and split pea soup. Soup is very very good! They sold frozen but one time we went there and they were out, so wait just only 5-10 mins they brought us very fresh from the pot then we heat up at home it’s every better. I have tried kebab for lunch as well. Sooo good and reasonable price

So. Yummy. I stop here atleast once a week to indulge in a pretzel, but what is super awesome is the chicken noddle soup! Ughhh it’s so good, now I’m gonna have to try all the soups!

Simply the best bakery in the area - the selection and quality can’t be beat. Add in the small but mighty German market and you have a most terrific option for any meal.

Just stopped by this super cute bakery! It’s adorable and I love that they have a lot of German products. I only gave 4/5 stars because it would’ve been amazing to have more vegan friendly products. I personally was disappointed that the frozen ā€œmake at homeā€ soups contained chicken stock, but that’s just me.

EDITED: Not sure why there was butt hurt on my review. It’s just one person’s opinion. Plus, all I mentioned is that it would’ve been nice to have the frozen veggie soups being made with veggie stock, since with chicken stock, it isn’t even vegetarian. Berlin is one of the most vegan friendly cities in the world and I was hoping maybe there may have been something within the store, like dairy free Ritter Sport (which I’ve found here in the US before.) There were other varieties, which is great too! Referring my review to ā€œwanting legos from Home Depotā€ was totally unnecessary. I didn’t intend for this establishment to feel any sort of disappointment from my review. In fact, the day of my visit, I bought a packet of ā€œSternchenā€ soup, a brƶtchen, and a package of Manner (since the Neapolitaner variety are vegan friendly) to show some sort of support.

I bought their authentic german bread and it meant a lot to me. My grandma passed away when I was in college and she was originally from Germany. I was fortunate to go to Germany with her and experience a part of my heritage. We had bread like this with meats and cheeses and I got to experience the christmas markets when I was twelve there. This bread brought back many great memories I had with her. I can’t describe how comforting this bread is to me. Thank you for creating such an amazing store. I will definitely be back soon. The owners are a very sweet couple.

Been using this bakery for about 5 years. It pains me to see a 4 star review because they don’t offer vegan items. That’s like leaving a 4 star review at Home Depot because you wanted legos, but all they had was real tools.

Bernard’s quality is 10/10 on everything they do. The bread is amazing and service is always warm and helpful. The quality of the German products is a lot of times better than American store bought brands so it’s great for condiments and that kind of thing too.
