Place is closed for remodeling. 1 star because I drove there at 6 am instead of waffle House to discover it was closed.
Good quick stop when get a home cooking / soul food jones
This place is extremely sketchy and I wouldn't give them my money if you paid me! I came with my boyfriend who (aside from noticing EXTREMELY OLD dry and crusty food under a CHEAP heat lamp) asked about their vegetarian options for me, to which the VERY CREEPY worker (who was asleep at a small table and seemed to be the only person in the "restaurant") (it's more like a dilapidated old Chinese takeout place with cheap tables for "dining" with the most UNEASY vibe) replied we have fish and chicken................... obviously he said alright no thanks and went to leave, as the creepy guy followed him to the door and asked him his name (not appropriate or relevant). He walked to the car and as we were leaving I noticed the guy was standing in the doorway watching us, giving the most disturbing and uneasy glare the entire time we drove away..

I was in Vegas visiting & did a Google search for best chicken & waffles The food was cooked to order & was hot & fresh. We took an Uber from the strip & was only about a 10 minute ride. I would definitely recommend if you like chicken & waffles.

The rib ribs are so freaking good. Along with the fried chicken, baked chicken. The macaroni and cheese reminds me of home and the collard greens were on point. All the food was seasoned to perfection. I went back two days in a row. The customer services is excellent m. The owners treat everyone like family when u walk thru the door! It’s that genuine southern hospitality That u can only find with real people. If u haven’t tried I promise u won’t be disappointed! They are definitely a pillar in our community. I love supporting our black businesses especially people who know how to treat others!! I can’t say enough about Lolo’s Cafe. I will definitely be back when I won’t some down home southern cooking and great hospitality!!

My wife and I stopped to eat something to eat now we both up sick do not eat here. Might be food poisoning.
Parking: Parking good
The three stars are for the staff. The food was ok. The restaurant was drab, and
Claustrophobic. I won't be back.
The owner was very accommodating...even took the time to make chicken for me even tho it was close to closing time... I appreciated so much!!!
I really enjoyed the food and the hospitality. I had the catfish with Green beans and mac and cheese. The catfish was cooked prefectly and the batter was a good compliment. The green beans had a tangy flavor that paired well with their hot sauce. The mac and cheese was a bit clumpy but very yummy. Thanks to my fellow diners I also tried the tilapia, which I liked even more than the catfish, and collard greens, which were awesome, and beans which were also great.

Black owned and operated.
Sharif (obviously the owner) is so personable and gracious and open and likeable! He truly cares about his guests! I didn't ever ask him... Was Lolo his mother? There are portraits and paintings on the wall of him and a very loving looking woman. I should have asked. But I didn't want to impose because he's already gone out of his way for me, a stranger, that just pulled in when I saw the place and smelled the tantalizing aromas of barbeque and fried fish as I was just driving by to take our employees home after work.As soon as I dropped them off and paid them their daily salary, I asked them "What do you know about Lolo's country cooking? (They only live 2 blocks away) They said they have the best whole catfish and that is difficult to find them open and that they serve generous plates.I thanked them and drove straight back to Lolo's.I pulled in and they were closing. I was still in the parking lot in my car.Sharif walked outside and told me I was too late, that they were closed. I must have looked truly disappointed, because then he asked what was I thinking I would have ordered it they were still open?I said 2 whole catfish dinners. He actually had his cook prepare the 2 meals for me even though they were closed. Then he said one of the fish was too small so he cooked an extra fish. And while I waited, he gave me a bowl of rib tips for me and my husband to try.He told me about his life, about the people he helps, about his diversified businesses. He's truly more than a restaurant owner. He is involved in his community from everything to helping wayward teenagers, to encouraging everybody that comes by his establishment on a personal level that is lost in this day and age. I was truly impressed. In my small time there, 3 different people came by just to share with him their accomplishments or just to talk to him, and he encouraged them. I would like to be that kind of person myself. That can touch people's hearts and make them feel special. And to be so open and real.I have never experienced such personalized and genuine service. This wasn't just public relations. This man cares about people and it shows! So, I digress, my order was a takeout order.I brought it home and everything was delicious! My husband and daughter left nothing left on the plate but fish bones. My daughter is a picky 9 year old and my husband is not usually a big eater. But tonight they ate!Sharif, you made a Lolo's believer out of me!Keep up the great work!I'll see you next time I'm in the neighborhood! Can't wait to try your breakfast!I'm thinking the shrimp and grits.....Btw do you ever serve oxtails? Just asking....Above and beyond, folks!Discover this unknown treasure! It's a diamond in the rough! And by supporting this business, you are also supporting the community. They are doing more than just serving food. They are empowering people to believe in themselves and be better people.I was only there 30 minutes. But it really impressed me!Ijs...........
Wow, I mean, everytime I've been to a soul food spot, it's okay but still no where near the cook out food we get from Aunty and em. This place though?? My guy opened up a restaurant named after his mom and is keeping her love alive with her recipes that he's mastered.I got the baked bbq chicken and some baked beans with cabbage... y'all... you gotta taste this food! Bring you right back to sitting in them fold up chairs next to the speaker with Charlie Wilson blasting out of it tawm bot mm Mm mm, and you just start nodding ya head in agreement with the flavor. I can't recommend this place enough.
