My visit last night with my two girlfriends for a birthday celebration was great. The hostess(regrettably didn't get her name) was immediately wonderful and even at other points in the night. Justin was our server. We shared a charcuterie board and a couple rounds of cocktails/wine. He was fantastic, great service, recommendations on point and always personalized our service. We were all impressed by the service, experience, and drinks.

Loved the vibe at Marietta Proper! We were warmly greeted and then seated. The menus need a bit of a re-do as the names of the cocktails were so faded you couldn’t read them but the bartender helped us. The drinks and food were wonderful! The cucumber salad and beet salad were absolutely delicious! We had a really nice time and will definitely return! Ask about the Members Only secret room! 😊

We were so excited to see this open right in a prime spot on the square! My first time going, I went with a girlfriend and I can’t tell you how long we stayed because we didn’t want to leave and didn’t feel forced out. It was so much fun. We shared 3-4 different dishes; she got wine and I got a cocktail. We went on a Wednesday night and walked right in to get a table. Definitely get a reservation for a weekend. I took my husband back late afternoon on a Saturday and we sat at the bar for drinks. All of the staff was so sweet and attentive. Try the arancini!
We were looking for a place to grab cocktails and saw they were open until 11. Came in at 10:20 on the dot and there were two bartenders, a guy in training and a woman. Asked if one round of drinks was cool, again, *40 MINUTES* before close. The woman was ridiculously snidey right off the bat, mentioning that "last call is at 10pm" for an 11 close, as if any bar in the history of this planet functions that way. No big deal, we said we'd be out by then for sure. Got stared at by said bartender the entire time while we enjoyed our $20 drinks that we tipped 20% for and left.
Will absolutely never spend my money at a place like this again.
The bartender in training was actually a nice guy, I'd recommend he get out of there as fast as possible. Run, don't walk. Pretentious self-indulgent garbage.

Today I visited Proper for the first time. I was looking for a place to grab a decent meal in a great atmosphere. Proper exceeded my expectations. Though I must admit my engagement with the host upon entry is still concerning. Here's what happened: I am an amazing beautiful charming African American woman with a bald head. I have reservations and was immediately seated at the first table right next to the host stand and only a few feet from the front door. It’s a cold night and I am bald, I do not want to sit at that table. Excuse I said is there another table we can sit at, while I am looking at several open tables that are situated between two different white patrons. And she said no, those tables are reserved. Reserved! What do you mean? Are you saying that I could have selected my table with the reservations? And this woman said yes! 😳 Really! Come on now! I'll leave you to make your own conclusion. Nonetheless she did some how find a table near the bar in the back corner. Things were great from there. I will definitely try it again.🙏🏽💛

Very nice, classy place, the waiter was very friendly and helpful. Fixed drink when 1 person didn't quite like hers...food was great. They just need more dessert/coffee selection, but will def come again for apps and drinks!

I loved sitting outside here with the view of the square. And that they use minimal plastic . My drink “the floosy” was excellent. The food was decent but high for the portion and quality. I got the rice bowl with vegetables which was mostly rice with minimal vegetables. The service was terrible. Maybe it was an off day because they were shortstaffed, if so they should have told us. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to come out. We did get our food shortly afterwards but no silverware, which took an additional 10 minutes. My husband had no salad dressing and this took an additional 10 minutes after we got our silverware.

This is a review of the 1 martini I ordered when I came inside. I had consumed other cocktails on the sidewalk table before and was pleased.
The price of my gin/vodka martini was $25.50! The bartender charged separately for each liquor. (as if I had been given one of each Vodka and Gin, on the rocks?) This cocktail should had been tops $14.00. The place is gorgeous but I'm not recommending it to my friends. Not sure if I got rung up incorrectly, but it feels like it. I didn't want to make a fuzz because it was my 1st time seating inside, but in retrospect, I definitely should had spoken to manager to have the price adjusted. BTW $12 for Tito's is ABSURD.
