This brunch location has delicious food. I chose the Avocado Toast which was really delicious with scrambled eggs with cheese.

We’ve been frequenting Sugar Cakes for the past five years or so. Our last visit was yesterday, Friday, October 3rd, for lunch. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were four tables outside, all occupied, and three of them were already finished.
At 11:43 I went inside and observed that the establishment was less than half full. I inquired about the availability of an outdoor table, and the waitress informed me that a table would be ready in 10 minutes. She suggested that we wait outside while they temporarily seat us.
At 12:15, my wife noticed that all the tables were finished, but no one had received their bill. She promptly informed the waitress inside that the patrons were finished and waiting for their bills. We had been waiting for about 30 minutes, and no one had attended those tables for a while.
The waitress, who was attending the inside tables that remained close to empty, said that it was not true. She claimed that the tables had been attended. She came out and didn’t provide any further information.
A few minutes later, the waitress finally arrived with all the bills for each table. My wife was so upset that we decided to leave after wasting nearly 40 minutes waiting at an establishment that was at best 50% occupied.
This unfortunate experience marked the end of our relationship with Sugar Cakes, which had lasted for several years. On the positive side, we discovered a fantastic new place nearby, called The French Café Doucet de France

This spot has been on of my wife & I's favorites since we moved to Atlanta a few years ago. Hands down, they have the best French toast in Atlanta.
Recently our company had the opportunity to look at their kitchen to perform some services and I was taken aback at how clean & orderly the owner and his staff keep everything. After seeing thousands of kitchens in Atlanta, I'm very selective of where I eat out, and let me tell you they keep it spotless.
10/10 can't recommend the shop enough. Do yourself a favor and grab brunch there!

This is hands down my favorite breakfast/brunch place! I absolutely love the California blt, the scramble plate, pretty much any of the bakery items and their croissants are the most buttery and flaky I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to France)! My husband loves the country French breakfast and he’s English, so I guess that’s saying something. Their coffee is really good, he loves their English breakfast tea, but the sweet tea is aaaaahmazing! We’ve had a server or two that seemed like they hated their job, but they’re no longer there. Everyone else is wonderful, especially Amber, we love her. We’re there pretty much every week, so trust us, we’re somewhat of an expert on the place 😂.

I'm glad that I had a chance to finally b
Pay this shop a visit. I went a few weeks ago and was able to get a seat at the front window. It was nice to be able to watch all the action on the square (aka people watching - lol). The service was merely ok. I would come back potentially for the pastries, but not the food. I ordered a veggie quiche because a quiche is one of the greatest breakfast/ brunch foods around. It was horrible. It was like an unseasoned spinach pie, but without the eggs. I tried to send it back and just replace it with scrambled eggs with cheese. For a simple side of eggs... that set me back $7.50!!!. Just for an order of eggs! I won't be back for food... but would be willing to try the pastries.

My recent visit to Sugar Cake was deeply disappointing due to the poor service we received. It started with the host, who seemed uninterested and unwelcoming from the moment we arrived. Things only got worse once we were seated.
Our waitress barely acknowledged us and acted as if we were a burden. She ignored our table for long stretches, and when she finally brought water, she dropped it on the table without a word or even basic courtesy. The same thing happened when she delivered the cappuccino—no eye contact, no smile, just a careless drop-off and a quick walk away.
It felt as if we were invisible the entire time. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but the lack of basic hospitality at Sugar Cake turned it into an unpleasant one. I hope management addresses these service issues, as the attitude and attentiveness of the staff can make or break a visit.

Sugar Cakes Patisserie & Bistro in Marietta is such a delightful spot! Every visit feels like a treat thanks to their wonderful, friendly staff who make you feel genuinely welcome the moment you walk in.
The food is just as impressive — their shrimp and grits are absolutely delicious, full of flavor and comfort. One of our favorite parts? The DIY omelet option! It’s such a great touch to be able to customize exactly what you’re craving, and everything always comes out fresh and perfectly cooked.
Whether you're stopping by for a relaxing breakfast or brunch on the square, Sugar Cakes delivers a consistently great experience. It’s charming, tasty, and full of local heart — highly recommend!

I ordered the eggs Benedict this morning. The eggs were quite overcooked like a boiled egg. They brought out a new plate but no apology from the cook who brought the food out. Service was under par, waiting over 10 minutes after seating when the resturant was not busy; nor did they check on me after I got my replacement meal. Food mediocre. Service poor.
